SYNOPSIS
ACT I — THE RABBIT HOLE
MOUTIER, SWITZERLAND. FEBRUARY 2017.
MATIAS AFFOLTER, 19, lives alone in a small apartment above a quiet street in the Jura Bernois. He's a self-taught programmer. Bright. Restless. Fluent in code and conspiracy forums. He spends his nights on the Steem blockchain — a decentralized publishing platform where posts are carved into cryptographic stone. Nothing written there can ever be erased.
One night, he clicks a link.
Then another.
Then thirty-two more.
A researcher operating under the alias MES has been publishing a series of meticulously sourced reports on something called PizzaGate — but not the version the media mocks. This isn't about a pizza restaurant. It's about the Madeleine McCann disappearance and suppressed police witness statements. It's about a confirmed pedophile whose villa sat at the exact location where a three-year-old girl vanished. It's about the fact that the missing girl's family spokesperson worked for the pedophile's son. It's about a former Mayor of London recorded on audio admitting that MI5 filmed child abuse to blackmail politicians. It's about a New York Times journalist with court-documented child pornography access who was never prosecuted.
It's about a system.
Matias begins resteaming the reports on his blockchain account, @primerz. Each click of the "Resteem" button is a permanent, timestamped act. It cannot be undone. February. March. April. May.
In May, he finds MES directly. They begin collaborating. Two strangers connected by a blockchain and a shared refusal to look away.
The outside world accelerates around them. Trump signs an anti-trafficking executive order. WikiLeaks dumps the CIA's entire cyber-arsenal — Vault 7 — confirming that intelligence agencies can hack any device on Earth and make it look like someone else did it. Matias resteems the coverage the same day it drops. He starts publishing his own articles. He starts seeking encrypted communication tools.
He starts to realize he is being watched.
ACT II — THE YEAR THE WORLD CRACKED
OCTOBER 2017.
On October 5, the New York Times publishes its investigation into Harvey Weinstein. Within days, the most powerful producer in Hollywood is fired, expelled, erased. On October 15, Alyssa Milano tweets two words: Me Too. Millions respond. The dam doesn't just break — it disintegrates.
Kevin Spacey. Dustin Hoffman. Louis C.K. Roy Moore. Day after day, another name falls. The sexual predator accountability cascade is the biggest story in the world.
Matias watches from his apartment in Moutier. He knows what the mainstream coverage won't say: this isn't random. The police arrive. They find a 19-year-old alone in a small apartment. A hammer on the counter. White powder on the desk. A machete on the printer. No intruder. No forced door. No visible enemy.
They see a young man who has lost control.
They do not see a young man who has found the pattern.
The police report is filed three days later under the heading "Idées funestes" — dark thoughts. A mental health classification. A PAFA is issued — involuntary psychiatric commitment. Matias is driven to Préfargier, a psychiatric clinic on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel.
The door closes behind him.
Outside, Charlie Rose is about to be fired. Matt Lauer is about to be fired. A United States Senator is about to resign. A gymnastics doctor who molested 150 girls is about to be sentenced to 175 years. A billionaire named Jeffrey Epstein is about to be arrested.
The snowball has already started rolling.
And the young man who saw it coming is locked in a room with no internet, no blockchain, and no one who believes him.
ACT IV — THE DEAD MAN'S SWITCH
NOVEMBER 21, 2017. EIGHT DAYS LATER.
Matias is out. Released, but not cleared. Not believed. Not vindicated.
He sits down at his computer. He opens Steemit. He opens Keybase. He encrypts a document using TripleSec — military-grade encryption layered three times. He hides the decryption key. He embeds the encrypted text into a blockchain post where it will live forever, readable only by someone who holds the key.
He titles the post: "Paedophilia and DEW — I have received torture threats."
He clicks Publish.
The timestamp is carved into the blockchain: November 21, 2017. Immutable. Unfalsifiable. Permanent.

Click any name and the web of relationships unfolds: Clement Freud to Matthew Freud to Clarence Mitchell to Kate McCann. Ken Livingstone to MI5 to the fabricated e-fits to the Podesta resemblance. David Payne to the Gaspar statements to the police suppression to Amaral's removal.
The tool was built with AI — Claude, made by Anthropic. The same technology that could have been used to suppress the truth was used to map it.
