Not quite a tree so I can't put it in the photo contest, but interesting non the less.
This little bush grows hair on its leaves as a sunscreen.
The hairs are white to reflect the sunlight and voluminous and fluffy to act as shading mechanism and cut down the movement of dry air around its leaves.
All three of these aspects help it keep cool and retain moisture in the blistering desert heat.
