What’s Changed Your Life The Most? + Ephemera Easter Egg Announcement!

What’s Changed Your Life The Most?

Whenever I hear this question three things come to mind for me, personally:

Writing;

Meditation; and

Cryptocurrency.

Those three things fall in no particular order because I find it impossible to place any one of them above the other. All three of these things have given me more satisfaction, peace, and freedom than I could have possibly imagined.

When I look back on my decades’ long journey I’m sometimes in awe of how it all unfolded. I have a deep sense of gratitude for those who’ve shared their knowledge and helped me along the way.

I’m curious. What Has Changed Your Life The Most? Please share in the comments below.

Combining Two Of My Favorite Things

Ephemera’s Cover Art.

I didn’t want to share too much publicly about this easter egg until I had all of the details worked out but now I do so I wanted to make the announcement here on Hive first.

Hidden within the pages of Ephemera are the credentials for a bitcoin wallet containing $500 worth of BTC (value at the time of wallet funding)!

In the first couple of weeks following the launch I’m going to be posting clues on social media on how to solve the puzzle to find the credentials and claim the prize. It’s not going to be easy but it probably won’t take long for someone to find.

“Whereas most technologies tend to automate workers on the periphery doing menial tasks, blockchains automate away the center. Instead of putting the taxi driver out of a job, blockchain puts Uber out of a job and lets the taxi drivers work with the customer directly. – Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum

Figuring out how to do this has given me an even greater understanding and appreciation for the ingeniousness behind the concept of bitcoin. I have no doubt that bitcoin will go down in history as one of the most important inventions of this century. This contest will be a lot of fun for me. I hope it exposes more people to cryptocurrency and the freedom it offers. We've only just begun to see how crypto and the technology behind it will change the trajectory of our species.

Ephemera is off to the book designer and we’ll be putting the finishing touches on the book over the next two-to-three weeks. I’ll have the official launch date soon but it’s safe to say it’ll be before the end of June. As always, you’ll hear it here first.

A Poem From Ephemera

THE BLOCKCHAIN

The fear is gone,
we are no longer drawn,
into the yawn of
the alarm clock dawn.

The slender thread
of humanity is frayed,
we wring our gnarled hands,
suffer, weep, then pray.

Teary eyes are useless
when the mind can't see,
let your heart take you deeper
into this soliloquy.

Operating on the edge,
this idea has the power,
to free us from our bonds
and now is the hour.

Decentralized, dissolving power
from the harbingers of misery,
making words at last ring true...
‘My country ‘tis of thee’.

Our future is so fragile,
our reality — greed and pain,
it’s time for this binary savior,
unleash the blockchain.

If I Were To Create A Meditation App...

...it would be a LOT like THIS ONE..

I’ve always enjoyed the work of Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hahn’s, he truly has 'walked the talk'. This app from his group Plum Village makes it easier than ever to integrate mindfulness and meditation into your life. I’ve been exploring it now for a week and have been more impressed each day.

Want to add some peace to your life? If the answer is yes, the app is free and I highly recommend you try it.

All for now.

With Gratitude,

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.

These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. This poem is good 👍. Always feel positive Peace ✌

Hello sir @ericvancewalton what a joy to see you trending. The cover image of your new book is very nice, good design encompasses what is the symmetry and perfection of what things are made of the universe, also refers to blockchain world and the same hive, certainly a work of art.

And if the content of his book has to do with those three elements he mentions, writing, meditation and Blockchain he predicted success. That additional one is also very appealing.

I would like to have the possibility to hunt the prize. But I'm sure someone who understands more about cryptocurrencies will do it faster than yo. However I like challenges and the thought of it already excites me. 😅🤗

Thanks for the app you share and the poem and from here to wherever you are I send you a big hug. Greetings 🙋🏽

Hi @soyunasantacruz! It's been a long time since I've trended like this. This new book is a collection of poems that I've written over the last few years. The prize won't be extremely hard to find but it'll take some basic knowledge of crypto to find it then move the bitcoin out to your own wallet. I hope you and your family are well! Take care.

My family is well, thank you for taking good care of me.

I am curious about the hidden prize, is it a gift from you? Nice way of marketing 😁 thanks. @ericvancewalton

That Ephemera’s Cover Art is amazing, the purple feel to the design is amazing, I want to understand the concept behind the book in general but then I guess with time. The title is really catchy and feels really esoteric but then psycological or spiritual .

I love the poem, kind of highlights the essense of the tech behind Crypto blockchain, the ryhme too is good the pattern is quite good,
As for me, what has changed my life is crypto and blockchain blogging, I was opputuned to come to steem which is now hive now and sincerly its the only thing that has changed my life. I was in a bad place before I found this place.

Thank you! The artist (who wishes to remain anonymous) did such a great job on it. It definitely draws the eye to the center of the cover.

I'm glad to hear you found opportunity and inspiration on the blockchain! It's changed and will continue to change the destinies of many people.

The cover definitely catches the eyes I must tell you, I was drawn to it at first site.
Thank you so much for all the inspiration, sincerly it's always good to see your contents, the aesthetics are always great and it marvels me how much time you put in.
I'll forever be grateful to to blockchain. How has you and your family been then?

You're welcome @josediccus. Thanks for the kind words. It seems like we've been part of this platform forever, doesn't it?

We're all good! My family in Ohio has all been vaccinated but my wife and I have just had our first shot. We get ours next week and then we'll be fully protected by the end of May. We're all just looking forward to warmer weather and being able to get together with friends and family. It's been a long, long year (more like 18 months) in isolation. I hope you and your family are well!

Yeah it feels like we've been here almost forever, truth is, it feels like home already.

Ahhh it's great to hear that you'll be fully vaccinated in no time I mean we're scared of the vaccine over here, because it's rumoured to have deadly side effect, although we're out of lockdown the nation has returned back to normal as it used to be. As for the weather, we're looking forward to cooler weather because it's like 35 degrees over here.

That is awesome about the book! I think that will drive a lot of people towards checking it out. For many different reasons! Crypto would probably be on the list of things that has changed me. I am guessing my wife would be pretty high, also my faith. That is a pretty big part of my life even though I don't show it all the time. My wife uses the Calm app, but we might have to check that one out. Especially if it has such a strong foundation!

Thanks! I would say all three of those are all wonderful to have in your life. The Calm app is really good also, my brother uses that one. It's definitely hit the mainstream.

Reading this, it feels Good! Thanks for your wisdom.
