Henge of Words

in #poetry4 years ago

Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

—Samuel Coleridge

I saw a star fall
And found
A black stone;

So never
Go into the woods
Alone.

Just at dusk
When the west
Is red

I saw a star fall
And felt
The dread.

In autumn
There is
A witching tree

Never go there
Except
With me.

When leaves
Are bright
And nights are cold

There are
Dark secrets
That can’t be told.

I saw a star fall
Out of the sky;

Stars still

Fall

when

I

look

in

your

eyes.
