Ostatnio napisałem coś o pająkach, to teraz będzie o achatinach. Last time I wrote something about spiders, so this time I will write about achatinas.
Achatina achatina to ślimak żyjący w zachodniej Afryce, w odróżnieniu od polskich gatunków charakteryzuje się ładnym spiralno-stożkowym kształtem skorupy oraz niespotykanymi lokalnie rozmiarami osobników dorosłych Achatina achatina is a snail living in west Africa. In contrast to local, polish species has nice spiral-conical shell shape and unparalleled size of adult specimen
Snails eat very much despite that they have slow metabolism. When I started breed them, I give them food for 3-4 days in my opinion, but next day morning, everything was eaten.
Every photo, that I put in this post, I take in a middle of night, because in day that animals are completely inactive and stay in the shell all time.
Curiosity at the end:
Achatinas are illegal in USA, because there climate is too comfort for them and are perceived as invasive species.
