Will Police Give Robots Deadly Weapons?

San Fran police authorities recently voted so that the police force in the region could potentially use lethal remote-controlled robots in possible emergency situations.

Critics are asking the obvious question of what could ever possibly go wrong in this situation?

They've said they don't want to arm the robots with guns but that they might have plans for something else. The move comes with heavy criticism from civil liberties advocates as well as some police oversight groups too.

This moves further in the direction of a militarized police force which is what many have pointed out, is that going to be a good thing for communities that have already seen damage from this trend?

Robots with deadly weapons? The whole idea is bad. Very dangerous. Imagine that a robot kills or seriously injures an innocent person (or even a criminal) by accident. Either by malfunction or by some kind of hacking. Who would be responsible in this case? How the people would walk amongst the armored robots? What would they feel? How would that affect their lives? And many other questions can be asked in this case.

I need to invest in green tip ammo. Their wish.com ED-209 knockoff needs to eat some AP.
