Last year we planned our Pakistan tour for the summers and our first stop was Lahore, it is an ancient city full of history and culture. One great thing in Lahore is the Wagah border, it is a gate that connects to India our neighbor country and the rivalry is surreal and I mean it. A daily ceremony happens there in the evening where flags get exchanged between the two countries. We were all really excited it was my first time getting a dslr to photograph on a trip I got a used Cannon 60D and a 50mm lens which is pretty basic since I’m a beginner. I was a bit nervous that cameras would not be allowed but fortunately I got it through and attended the ceremony with it.
I was overwhelmed by the ceremony and the passion of the crowd on both the sides. There were slogans being shouted amongst each other and cheering from the crowd it was really amazing and we got goosebumps from this. The soldiers that performed the ceremony were at least 6ft 3 inches of height and their shoes have metal souls to enhance the sound when they hit the ground. You should really check out the ceremony for yourself if possible. It is a very popular tourist place to attend.
I don’t think I did justice to the colorful and cheerful ceremony but I am satisfied with my first attempt at it, hope you guys find some positives in it. Also, the pics are totally unedited because I don’t really know how to use any proper software to edit these pics using lightroom or what not. Now that I have the time I’m interested in learning it, is anyone here teaching it I’m curious to learn thanks. These are some of the highlights of the ceremony.
