Back to the 80-ties!!
Sitting at home and not being able to travel to go on vacation, and not having anything to write about, I went back to look at some old photos, pasted in an old photo album. The quality of the photos is quite bad, as it is of photos behind plastic taken with my cellphone!!
These photos were taken at Sodwana Bay, on the extreme North Coast of South Africa, close to Mozambique's border.
We had an old Landrover and a VW Bug, that was converted into a Baja Bug.
We camped in a tent and those years there was no electricity available and just some rather sad looking ablution blocks to shower in cold water!!
You could also just buy the very basics there, thus we had to bring most of the food and drinks with us. (The camp however did provide some fridges that one could rent at a central place, where electricity was available.) You had to make sure your fridge was locked with a pad lock or stuff would just disappear!!
You can see us sitting around the camp fire, busy enjoying ourselves!!
Have you ever done this?? Tow a person on a tractor tube, behind a Landrover on the beach?? Lots of fun - and we never even got hurt!!
On the beach we had makeshift shelters against the hot African sun!! Some nice beers also always provided some nice cold and much needed nourishment!!
Some evenings we had big socials on the beach, with everybody just having a good time!! And yes, we drank whiskey out of the bottle at times, although I preferred beer!!
Beer down downs also was the order of the day, I am not sure who the winner was in this case, looks like a tie!!
Just look at that long quiet beach!!
The 80-ties really was a great time, we enjoyed life in a good way!!

Lol I was still in primary then, those are sweet old memories. The padlock on the fridge amused me 😀
That was really good memories!! Yes, food and beer could easily evaporate, if the fridge was not locked.
