The Daily Meme #420!

image.png

It's that time of the month again.

@dalz has once again exposed the truth in the math of hive and its inflation.

https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@dalz/top-hive-earners-by-category-or-authors-curators-witnesses-dao-or-may-2022

IF you are not following him, he is a good one to keep up with what he is saying, imo.

His posts speak to the immutability of what we have going here in the hive.
Don't you think that if these numbers could be hidden they would be?

When I first got here there wasn't anybody putting out numbers that made the upper echelons look bad.
Just wasn't done.
The berninator would come buy and introduce himself.
Things have improved greatly since those days, iyam.

But, what hasn't changed is that the top is still raking it off at the expense of anybody buying in.
This has to be turning off new investment.
Why buy into making the top few accounts even richer?

image.png

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the top 20 accounts taking 50% of the rewards is all bad.

These are the most committed members of the hive, mostly.
@Blocktrades just powered up 2mil hive.
We can imagine what the price would look like if he hadn't swallowed up all that dumping.
It wouldn't be pretty, imo.

So, don't go all flagwar on them just yet.

Just a small flag following the xaccounts will do, for now.

It signals your preference that the top accounts on hive be a mesa, and not a snow covered peak impossible to climb.

IF you are not aware, or have forgotten, the rewards pool is a commons.
What the top doesn't take out the next smaller accounts do.

What I would like to see is the first 50% of the rewards being distributed to the top 1000 accounts.
This seems much more attractive of a proposition than watching it go to the same diehards all the time.

The conundrum is that if the top accounts don't suck it up the malicious accounts at the top get it instead.
They then dump it because they hate the hive and love their money more.
Some of them hate the hive because of the way the were treated years ago.
Some of them are just greedy f**ks.

I don't know what it will take to get the 50% going to more than a handful of accounts, but I suspect the flag wars will be epic, were we to gather support from a few of those at the top.

I do want you to examine your support of the curation gangs, if you do support them.

When gangs gang up they increase the rewards for the members at the expense of everybody not a member.
The leaders of the gang benefit the most.
Sure, some of them redistribute a portion of what they get, but that just makes it all the worse.
It's getting a bitch slap from a virtue signaler.
Any rewards that a curation gang gives first come from everybody else in the pool.

While you are cheering those clowns on and praising them for a what a good job they do distributing the coin, realize they first took those coins from every other author/curator in the pool, then they bestow them on only those accounts they approve of.
No dissenting opinions need apply.

IF you are an approved account you benefit, if not, then screw you.

All hail the idiocy of conformity.

Snap out of it!

Tell the people you interact with to vote their stake, both up and down.
The crab bucket needs all the crabs it can get.

I know it takes alot of time to evaluate accounts to know if they need flags.
If you don't have that kind of time, follow a flaggot that you trust and verify the things they are flagging.
Not having time is a poor excuse.
The crab bucket needs you.

Sooo much of the 'content' being created here is crap.
One of the top 20 accounts pointed this out to me one day.
If they weren't taking sooo much of the pool it would just go to crap posts and dumpers.
He does have a point.

What you, as a curator, need to look at is if the people you are voting are dumping.
If they are powering down to dump, it will be in your best interests as a longterm hodler to stop voting those folks rewards.

Now, the 4hbd a day I give away are miniscule in comparison to what the curation gangs are giving to people, but every little bit helps.
I have stopped voting on people that I follow and like their content because they are powering down and dumping.
You should consider doing the same.
IF we could get the accounts that can have a real impact on this to join our initiative, that would be nice.

Stop voting rewards to those that dump.

I know some people really, really need the money bad.
I get that, we all sell at some point.

What I am hoping to avoid is bleeding out the golden goose that is the hive.
If you are powering down and dumping now, you are harming the rest of us while negating this opportunity.

Every new user was eating in the days before they found our golden goose.

Sure the hive may be a godsend to many, but if they bleed us out by dumping everything we vote to them they will end up in the same poverty they escaped by finding us, except now we are poor too because we were living on the blood of the goose they just killed.

People that powerdown and dump are not your friends.

Are you are tired of paying your masters to bomb children in far away places?
Perhaps it is time you pushed back on that.
A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
A dollar of change in your pocket is a dollar of value out of the banksters' pockets that force us to pay them so they can play in the amusement parks from hell and shop in the human grocery stores.
'Aint that fresh?'

Metal in your own possession will always have more intrinsic value than digits on a bankster's ledger.

Billy Jack, the movie.

Sort:

Arent all curators on the list the same with different accounts ? more or less ..

There are not 20 owners of the top 20 accounts.
Maybe as few as 10.

Yes , 10 the most

#420 for 4.20 hive ..how about that ?!
Interesting post , shows the real world

It's at 4.56 now, any chance it will go to 70 or 80?
Doubtful.
Those free speech advocates that could put it on trending, won't.

at least i am very surprised you are not being DV and they agree you stay here with your
Own perception of Hive .
I am not surprised at all , the whole economical system is based that way .
I havent brougth 2 million Hive On the table , they did , tons of people are earning a lot from curators without bringing a penny in .

Yeah, there was a time that speaking out was a liability.

The price moons when folks stop selling.
At some point that won't ever happen because it makes a few people entirely too rich.
Our distribution is very important and what is happening now is that things are getting worse, not better.
Buy more hive.

I cant buy , i need the money for my mum hospital .
But i ll keep the staking

Thanks for explaining some truth and just what the graphs are showing.. :)

It is what we make of it.
All those folks that dumped and left are quitters.
Quitters rarely win.
