My Stance on the Proposed Powerdown Period Change of 4 Weeks
Primarily, my concern was and still is regarding the security benefits that 13 weeks bring. On top of that, I would like to see a more robust & dynamic solution that supports multiple staking/powerdown periods and duration requirements for certain actions/rewards on Steem (e.g. witness voting could require min. 3 months powerdown and post rewards could have a powerdown of 4 months).
A call...especially to the big stakeholders who have voted the return proposal...
On the 27th of August, along with the changes that HF 21 / 22 brought regarding author / curation rewards, SPS worker proposals were also introduced to us. I am pretty sure that everyone is familiar with this system and the way it works after all these months so I don't think that I need to delve further into that.
State of Motivation?
India is Ground Zero for the battle between the establishment and cryptocurrency. The second most populated nation is doing its best to ban cryptocurrencies and give the banks a free path to continue their games. The level of corruption in India is moving to new highs. Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative(PMC) Bank is now mired in the middle of a scandal. The ones feeling the biggest impact is the customers of the bank who are cut off from their funds.
