Who ARE these muppets?
A quick scroll thru trending posts on Hive is mostly posts about how to make money on Hive and how to write posts about how to make money on hive. I'm not interested in making money on hive, I'm interested in interesting viewpoints and alternatives to the banality of mainstream media and other social media sites. Even WITH heavy censorship I see more interesting stuff on facebook than on here (with a few exceptions).
For instance one trending post this morning with huge upvotes was a blank video. NOTHING there whatsoever. Why is it trending. Are empty posts really what people want to see? Maybe I should upvote it too and collect some crumbs to join in the facade.
Something stinks here. Hive does not do what it says on the tin........
or am I just being a naive little fish?
We'll see.
Apparently this is some sort of 'badge of honour' but I'm not into badges and I don't see any honour in this. Badges are for children and playgrounds.

Apparently this comes across a bit whiney. That was not my reason for posting it I can assure everyone. Just want to raise awareness of things going on in the background. I'm also assured that these muppets are mere ankle biters and nought to worry about (I'm not worried I promise) so I was gonna delete this but seeing as many have kindly given their votes to it I'll leave it there. Thanks to everyone who has my back, you know who you are ;-)

In a nutshell - as with the rest of the world - money and a secret agenda are working hand in hand.
Your research is amazing, and if you researched this blockchain like it was the coronahoax (But I DO NOT recommended wasting your time on this) you would find out all sorts of dirty secrets!
Your content is not insider approved and if you were more visible you would cop more flac. But you do have supporters, and battles are being waged here just like everywhere else.

Hive is a mess…. Same 10 people on Hive Trending all the time.
Unfortunately the 'normal' world reaches deep into Hive; the promise of rewards makes it even more so, triggers greed and all. And now we have this split about C19.
I've been fighting this since 2017, with my humble tiny means, and I continue to do so. But I am not sure if our platform can survive this greed...

Not at all, likes was not all I ever got to be honest. When u kick a hornets nest you expect to get stung and I do, I just got used to it. But greed and liars are 2 things I can never like.
What I meant is that many people that got used to facebook (where you have 'like only') have a hard time getting used to downvotes (even though they are part of the balance)

It's a bit difficult to say. I've never been to hive's trending page lol. I barely open the trending page here on proofofbrain, I mostly stay on "recently uploaded" content tab. As for the downvotes, I can't tell.
But sunsetjesus happens to be a really silly account downvoting anyhow, that's my observation.
Yeh 'trending' is just to see who is getting most upvotes really, it's a good indication of what is 'treasured' on this platform so not a good look in my humble opinion. I have been made a ware of sunsetjesus too as he was the first to target me. Seems he has 'friends' now and it's not so cute any more.
This is actually quite concerning because I really do like HIVE and Ecency but if bots can come in and manipulate the feed it would make genuine content creation not dynamic anymore.
The making money is just icing on the cake, I was really looking for a way to support content that I like and has stuff that isn't on the mainstrream.

This was something I noticed on STEEM before the HIVE fork... I used to stream on a platform called DLive and when people noticed that they can earn money... Well people think of ways of easily abusing loopholes. This is no exception. It would be a problem that is hard to fix.
People are what is wrong. I know it sounds weird, but the masses hardly use their brains. They are mindless followers that are living in constant fear and can't think of anything outside what the mainstream tells them to think.
I guessed I would find a different kind of 'people' here. Guess I was wrong. Silly me.

I don't visit trending anymore. Most of the authors there have been around a long time and are in receipt of generous autovotes. Which is fine I suppose, some are great authors who I subscribe to but I reserve my votes for less visible and rewarded posters. I want to see all the classes to grow and encourage mor diverse content.
I Hope the changes in HF25 will see this change over time as autovoters don't get the curation rewards they once had.
As regards downvotes. I get some now and again. Knowing that until payout in 7 days the rewards are not mine tempers my expections.
I am sad to see downvotes becoming a tool of feuds and not being used to judge content.

I wouldn't sweat downvotes too much. That post still ended up positively paid. Just like reddit, you're not going to get 100% upvotes on everything you post.
Yeh am not bothered about it just raising awareness really. I'm still on a learning curve here, not for the money more for the fun of it. I get censored a lot on FB so this is a good place to put stuff that gets me in trouble there.
