Today's coin reveal post features the 5oz Silver button struck by Scottsdale Mint. This is my fourth post on coins, bars and rounds produced by Scottsdale Mint. Scottsdale is a precious metals mint located in Scottsdale, Arizona in the USA. They manufacture and distribute amazing precious metals coins, bars and rounds direct to the consumer via their online website. Every product that I have seen produced by Scottsdale Mint is of exceptional quality and design, the company states that they have 'a strict quality policy and only create products that exceed the highest standards of purity, weight, quality, and craftsmanship'.

1. Coin Story

The Scottsdale 5oz Silver button is effectively a circular poured cast bar. Similar to your standard rectangular cast bars, no two 5oz buttons are identical. Some buttons will be rounder than others, while others will have the odd bump and blemish that tend to add to the character of the button.

If you prefer you silver to be mint and in perfect condition, then these circular cast bar buttons might not be your cup of tea. However if you love silver in its raw beauty, then these button are one of the nice poured bars you could own.

2. Coin Packaging

Individual buttons are shipped in protective packaging. When purchasing these buttons in bulk, they will be shipped out in a rigid cardboard box.

If you are not too worried about these buttons tarnishing, then you can handle them without gloves on, but if you prefer to keep them in their original shiny condition, then it is advisable to only handle them with white cotton gloves. When storing your buttons, make sure they are stored in a cool dry place and for extra certainty you can place some silica gel bags near your buttons as they will absorb any moisture in the air.

I have a Scottsdale collection but I don't have the 5 oz round yet, my stack has room for improvement. 😁
