I'm sure there have been about 100 posts about this, but I'll give my "two bits". Good doc if you're basically a noob like me to give some perspective on the crypto space. Traces the evolution of bitcoin back to '90s cypherpunk groups and computer sci types. The 2009 crash coincided with the release of bitcoin and there are a lot of theories about who really is Satoshi Nakamoto and discussion of other blockchain pioneers.

Also delves into the silk road troubles and associations with black markets and the regulations created by New York under the spectre of big banks and oligarchs. And clued me in about how bitcoin already had a big run-up in 2014 followed by a tumble in 2015. Makes me wonder if this latest surge is a precursor to a market crash and loss of confidence in fiat systems. "Banking on Bitcoin" can currently be found on netflix.
