Hand colored with colored pencils: Bata Drum

in #risingstar20 days ago

A big hug to you all, friends. Today I hand-drew the Bata Drum. You can find this lovely card by searching for it with the ID number i95. It's a drum. It reminds me a lot of a conga. If you search for the conga online, you'll see the resemblance; both are beautiful. This one has four decorative pieces on the sides, which makes it different. The conga doesn't have these, only some fasteners for the top drumhead.

The Bata drum is played by placing it between the legs, making it easier to hold and play with the hands. However, this isn't the only way; I've also seen it played on the floor, like other large drums. It can be played with the whole hands or with the palms and fingers. Generally speaking, it's most often played with the palms. It largely depends on the genre being played and the player's style.

It's made almost entirely of wood; the only exceptions are the leather membranes you play and the metal parts that hold everything in place. I like its shape better than the conga's; it's thinner, which makes it look elegant. The conga is also quite beautiful, but it's wider and, in my opinion, less attractive. Oh well, to each their own. 😅

In the photos, you can see how I drew the Bata Drum, its base, and how I colored it with colored pencils. Now I want you to see how it turned out.
