So I did three runs in the last week, and on top of what i did last week I honestly think this is my limit!
After my 5 year Park Run PB last Saturday I too a couple days off and went in with intervals on the Tuesday....
I did three runs,
- Tuesday 400 Metre intervals
- Thursday - paired back 1KM intervals
- Saturday 5K tempo park run...
That was about my limit!
Tuesday 400M intervals
Drove up the track and did the usual.... 2 times warm up 400s and then 7 decent ones, using my new found average pace per split I did...

-4.22
-4.16
- 4.06
- 4.07
- 4.01
- 4.02
- 3.54
- 3.52
- 3.51
I mean I am pretty happy with this!
Thursday IK Intervals...
I headed out round the local park with the intention of doing 5 times proper 1K intervals at a 4.20/ 4.15 and then 3* 4.10 pace, but by the third interval it was feeling the kind of tough that said 'tooo much' so I called it a day at three and then just jogged for the final too.
3 KM interval times....
-4.23
-4.15
-4.17

This felt a little hard... After three I was done - not too bad I guess - harder on the rough than on the track for sure!
From here on in I think it's...
I think it's important to listen to your body like this, pulling back after 4 hard runs i think is very fair!
Saturday tempo Park Run...
I think my tempo pace is currently around the 24 minute mark - and we had pacers today so I just sat behind the 24 minute guy who did a pretty good job until the end and then upped my pace slightly to finish in just under 24 mins.

This felt OK - I think I can repeat this once a week!
Final thoughts...
I think three hard runs a week is just too much, so I'm gonna aim for only 2 from now on with 1-2 easy runs per week too!
I've been watching a few videos and may adjust my training. Intervals of various kinds seem to be key. I can't do more than 3 or 4 runs pretty well so have to make them count. Your training seems to be working well.
I'm enjoying it at the mo - i think the key is one interval, one tempo, one longer a week, then anything else should be easy!
