Blessings friends and brothers in Christ!

I share a new lesson focused on the peace of God as a spiritual weapon that protects the mind and heart of the believer.

In Philippians 4: 7 the apostle Paul wrote:

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus.

In Philippians 4: 7. There it is said that God's peace will keep our heart and our mind. In other words, the peace of God acts as a guardian: it protects us, among other things, against unnecessary worries caused by the relentless pursuit of material goods. Let's see an example.

Nowadays many people think that to achieve happiness it is necessary to have a lot of money. Therefore, following the recommendations of financial experts, some invest part of their savings in the stock market. Do you feel calmer and safer from that moment? Not always, since many live pending changes in the price of the shares to know if they should sell or buy. And this adds to the anguish they suffer whenever there is a fall in prices. Although the Bible obviously does not condemn that we invest our money, it does give us this warning: “A simple lover of silver will not be satisfied with silver, nor any lover of wealth with income. This is also vanity. Sweet is the dream of those who serve, no matter how little they eat; but the abundance that belongs to the rich does not allow him to sleep ”(Ecclesiastes 5:10, 12).

Philippians 4: 7 concludes by saying that God's peace will protect us "through Christ Jesus." Now, what is the relationship between Christ and the peace of God? Jesus plays a fundamental role in fulfilling God's purposes. He gave his life to free us from sin and death (John 3:16). In addition, today he occupies the position of King of the Kingdom of God. By understanding all this, our mind and our heart are filled with peace. How?

To begin with, we feel calmer knowing that, thanks to Jesus' sacrifice, God will forgive our sins if we sincerely grieve him (Acts 3:19). And since we understand that we will only fully enjoy life when Christ rules over humanity, we do not lead a frantic and desperate life like many people (1 Timothy 6:19). None of this prevents us from having problems today, but it certainly comforts us to know that the best is yet to come.
