At first glance, it seems that all the major powers, as well as some private companies, are committed to turning human beings into a multi-planetary species. But this is not a trivial matter. It is not just the journey that, in addition to costing a fortune, can last for months, and the exposure to radiation or the fact of having to provide ourselves with food and other basic needs in future colonies.

These are the things that we already know, so even if it takes effort and money, they can be solved with new technologies. But there are other problems that we have not even been able to imagine, much less confirm, that affect the health of astronauts in the medium and long term and that can put their lives at risk.

Recent studies have shown that spending a relatively short time on the International Space Station (ISS) can have a significant impact on heart tissue. A decrease in the strength of heart contraction has been observed, as well as the appearance of irregular heartbeats and genetic markers associated with aging and cellular damage.

Microgravity, i.e. the absence of gravity, is one of the main culprits. Not having to work against gravity to pump blood, the heart becomes "lazier" and loses strength. In addition, cosmic radiation and other factors in the space environment can also contribute to cell damage.

These findings have important implications for future long-duration space missions, such as trips to Mars. If the heart ages faster in space, astronauts could face a higher risk of cardiovascular disease upon their return to Earth, even though round-trip flights to Mars on a commercial aircraft are still a long way off.
At the moment, scientists are working hard to better understand the molecular mechanisms behind these changes and to develop strategies to protect astronauts' cardiovascular health. This includes designing specific exercises, developing drugs and creating artificial environments that simulate gravity.

To be honest those are some serious issues here. Yes the technology to solve the problems will be invented but how many will suffer this before such problems are noticed. I hope our tech gets better soon brother.
At least the astronauts are volunteers, they are killing us just the same without asking. ;-)
To be honest 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 you're right if you look at it that way
We live in the gravitational force and our bodies have evolved to live in the gravitational force. In space the body becomes lazy to adjust with its surroundings because of the gravitational force. The bad news is that being in space is bad for the heart.
This is bad only if you come back to earth, if you stay in Mars it seems all will be fine.
Till today, I still amazed and wondering how do humans survive in space. How do they actually cope
For me, what more scare me about gravity is go to the bathroom. ;-)
