Koh Samui island is a island off from the mainland south of Surat Thani you can fly direct there from Bangkok domestic airport or you can fly to Surat Thani Donsak Pier and take the huge ferry boat across the Gulf of Thailand if your not in a hurry and it's a cheaper way of doing this trip plus you get to see more of Thailand's country side. This beautiful fiery sunset i captured crossing the Gulf of Thailand and you can see Koh Samui island in the far distance it's a 2 hour ferry ride across the Gulf of Thailand to reach the island of Koh Samui.
Another beautiful sunset looking across to Koh Samui beach from the tree house resort i was staying this is the view we had from the high mountain where the resort is situated a beautiful nature setting very peaceful and tranquil one place i found hard to leave.

You can't believe how much i enjoyed the island been so quiet and peaceful but do feel sad for the Thai people been out of work due to no tourist on the island.
I believe you that you enjoyed it, and of course it is very sad when you lose the only business you live from.
During our Covid measures I have also had the chance to experience a few places without people, which are usually crowded.

It was very sad talking to some Thai people loosing there only income hopefully it will return to normal for them at some stage but i feel it will be a long way away so they will need to find a alternative.
Looking for alternatives will be a good idea, because even if the tourists will come back, it will go slowly and it will be different, at least for a while. Here there are already many tourists, but most of them are Austrians and just a few people from other countries - before Covid it was the other way round.
