SEAPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST • WEEK 129 • SEA and SUNSETS.

in #seaphotography3 years ago

In all my travels and the only place that I felt I was living the real tropical life with countless crystal clear beaches around me along the coastline and with countless coconut trees that just drew you in to that tropical feeling of freedom was on Koh Samui Island which is the second largest island in Thailand and lies on the Gulf of Thailand. It didn't matter from whatever side of this island you were you would always get the best of sunrises or sunsets and they would never be the same every morning or evening mother nature would be out there painting you another masterpiece.

I am actually looking forward to going back to Koh Samui Island after travel restrictions are lifted for the reason not only because it is a magical island but because from Koh Samui Island you can do a bit of Island hopping to most of the other famous island's that are inhabitant like Koh Phangan , Koh Nang Yuan , Koh Tao , Koh Mae , Koh Taen and these are only a few there are another 42 pristine islands in all around Koh Samui Island and they are all about a hour speedboat ride away.

In the whole four weeks we stayed on Koh Samui Island we managed to see the most beautiful crystal clear beaches like Maenam Beach , Chaweng Beach , Lamai Beach , Chaoeng Mon Beach , Bophut Beach and many more each with there own beauty and extraordinary sunsets. They refer to Thailand as the "Land of Smiles" and i can see why with sunsets like this everyday it would certainly put a smile on you everyday 🌞

I can only dream for now anyway. 😔

And keep that dream alive 👍

Looks like an amazing Paradise to me! I had no idea there was that many islands out there in that they were so easily reachable! Keep on sending the beauty oh, I never Tire of it and it allows me to put another destination on my list.

It really was and i was surprised myself in how many beautiful little gem beaches were out there i am looking forward to going back there sometime this year if all goes well.

Gorgeous photos. I love Ko Samui, It was my first island destination back 18 years ago when I was 20! The island has developed a lot since then. Filled with expensive resorts now. I remember staying at big Als beach front bungalows for 10 USD (300 baht) a night. As the years passed I ended up getting a bit priced out of that island, and had to make Koh Phagnan as my main spot in the gulf. Which is fine. I love this island so beautiful, equal to Samui so many ways. Like Samui was 20 years ago.

However with covid, I can hop over to Samui and get a new condo apartment with pool and gym for the rock bottom price of 250 bucks a month now! So I may have to go spend some quality time with my past favorite island. Samui 2006 was truly amazing. When were you first on Ko Samui if you don't mind me asking?

Also the photos are spectacular here. In fact I've been getting into some really healthy habits lately and have been waking up for the sunrise every morning, catching it on different east coast beaches each day. Spectacular. I think a lot of the time the sunrises are more impressive than the sunsets. Very cool and peaceful time of the day.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. Keep up the great bog. Upvoted and following.

Thank you @world-travel-pro ..Wow 18 years ago it would have been almost a untouched and beautiful island at that time wish i had discovered it then I was there about 4 years ago and even though it was more commercialized we still found many hidden gems. I wrote a few posts on where we stayed in the very early stages of joining hive.

I have seen a couple of recent post of people living in Thailand and have been over to Koh Samui Island over the covid period looks like a ghost island but could you imagine how clean the beaches would be and how cheap it is as you say, would love to jump on a plane right now and head over there again.

Blown away by each one of your breathtakingly beautiful sunset photos! No two are ever the same.🌅

Good luck in the contest and have a terrific weekend! @kohsamui99

Thank you @ninahaskin for your so kind words this is one place i would love to re-visit 🌞
