7 Day Beer Challenge Day #2: The Beer That Should Not Be

Day 2 is upon is!!! I come to you with another new Hop Butcher beer! After those last 3 worked out so well, my faith in this brand has flourished. This is called “The Beer That Should Not Be”
I couldn't disagree more, it definitely should be!

It is described as a “Medusa, Mosaic, and Hallertau-Blanc Hopped Double India Pale Ale” That’s quite the hop profile! Mosaic delivers huge on tropical flavor, mangoes, and the tart citrus flavor of passion fruit. Medusa, a very new hop on the scene brings a lot of dank aromatics, bursts of guava, melon, and also citrus. The Hallertau is a surprising choice but mixes well, offering some grassy and herbal notes, white wine and elderberry tartness and acidity. I am also getting a little grapefruit and pineapple. Someone basically canned a fruit basket!

It’s pretty bitter, and the bite offers some complexity to the beer overall. If not for a little upfront bitterness, this may have just tasted like a bunch of fruitiness. Very cloudy, but I am not sure if it is from lots of dry-hopping, probably a lot of hops in the boil along with a clever choice of yeast.

Last but not least, combining beer night with a cool retro game. I decided to buy the game “Operation.” My wife and I were just talking about how annoying and stressful this game was when we were young, so I bought it so we could relive the torment! There are little bones you need to take out of a small space with tweezers without touching the edges. Game night must commence, thank you for joining me on the 2nd day of this beer challenge!

I nominate @bigskycustoms for the 7 day beer challenge!

I like a nice cloudy IPA like that, looks delicious. When my parents were moving out of their house a while back I found an old game of talking battle ship in the basement so that's been our nightly board game lately.

I love old school board games. They remind of childhood. They are usually pretty fun and challenging. They seem lame from the outside but they actually make for an enjoying night..especially when cold brews are served!

even the tin looks good ... To provide and health!

ha, not sure I can comply, I did make it 6 days straight last week. But no beer tonight so I already broke my 1 day streak. I will try but don't count on it. And you have to quit with the IPAs man, drink some dark beer.

beer is an art and if it has so many flavors together and they combine well, then at good times, enjoy your beers !!

Beer makes playing Operation less stressful! We were babysitting a friend's little girl while he was working on a project and I must have played operation for something like 3 hours straight. Beer helped a lot.
