During our road trip through Utah and Idaho we stopped and took pictures at many temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
@jarvie is a temple photographer and has published three books on temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints so it was natural for us to stop and get pictures of these temples as we traveled. The temples are sacred places of worship for Latter day Saints. During COVID19 access is limited so this trip we only took pictures.
Meridian Idaho Temple
We spent the most time at the Meridian Temple. We did a sunrise shoot. I have the best pictures of it, so I will start with it and work backward.
Meridian Idaho, is a suburb of Boise, Idaho. It was dedicated in 2017. [1]
Here is a map highlighting where each of the temples are located. The Meridian and Brigham City Temples are highlighted but the cities are smaller and the names didn't show on the map.
Twin Falls Idaho Temple
Twin Fall is in Idaho. was dedicated in 2008 [2]
Pocatello Idaho Temple
Is currently under construction and will be the 6th temple in Idaho. [3]
Idaho Falls Idaho Temple
This temple was dedicated in 1945 and sits on the banks of the snake river above the falls. It is the first temple in Idaho. [4]
Rexburg Idaho Temple
This temple was dedicated in 2008 and is very close to Brigham Young University of Idaho. [5]
This temple has special meaning as my nephew Remington was married here in October 2017.
Logan Utah Temple
The Logan temple is the second temple built by the saints in Utah. It was dedicated in 1884 and rededicated in 1979 after updating and restoring it. [6]
My oldest brother married his second wife in this temple.
Brigham City Utah Temple
The Brigham City Temple was dedicated in 2012 [7] and sits directly across from the beautiful pioneer Box Elder Tabernacle.
Provo City Center Temple
The Provo City Center temple is located in Provo Utah, which is where I went to school at Brigham Young University. It was dedicated in 2016 and was once a tabernacle. [8]
I took this picture with my cell phone through the gates as the day we saw it the ground were closed. It is a gorgeous building and I love walking around the grounds. My nephew Emerson was married in this temple.

These are beautiful structures Sara, will you be sharing the interior with us by any chance? Would be interested to see what how they differ from churches, as the exterior looks very different.
Hi Pauline. Good question. Yes, they are usually much bigger that the church buildings that we attend each Sunday. The work that happens in the temple is different too. It is a place to make, learn about and keep covenants we make with God. Pictures are not allowed to be taken of the inside. There are pictures of the inside that the church has taken and published. \
