About twenty-five years, the US Mint was taking orders for their, 1997 Botanic Garden, Modern Commemorative, Silver Dollars. The price, for the Uncirculated, was $33 (USD) and the final mintage was, only, 58,505. The price, for the Proof, was $37 and the final mintage was, 189,671. The less expensive, BUs, are rarer the Proofs.
Today, the Local Coin Shop, had over two hundred, many different, for $23, each. These ninety-percent US Silver Dollars, are struck with the exact same planchet/blank, of old Morgan & Peace Silver Dollars, with a Silver content, of 0.7736 Troy Ounce. Did you know two Half-Dollars, contain only 0.7234 T Ounce of Silver?
The biggest draw back is that the Dealer discarded the original Mint display box & COA, because, they take up too much space. This often happens, with all kinds of Silver Proof Sets, at this LCS.
