Today's Local Coin Shop Junk Find 11-12-2021 _ Phriday's Phake

This standout, in the Local Coin Shop Junk Box, quickly got my attention:
Fake.jpg
The price was a little over, the Silver melt price, or $12(USD). Why was it in the junk box? Take a close look at it. It is one of the worst looking, "graded" condition, JFK Silver Half-Dollars, I have ever seen. But, that's not the problem.

Yes, the scratches are on the coin, not on the protective plastic case. PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is the best coin graders out there, right up there with NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company. These American Coin Grading Companies, service, costs around $50(USD), for the average, collector. So yes, the plastic costs more than the Silver.

The honest Local Coin Shop Dealer spotted the FAKE, protected plastic graded case. The Coin is a real Silver, US Minted, JFK Silver Half Dollar. This is probably another I-nese, real-but-phake-phrauds floating around, out there. Be aware of these misleading frauds.

The dead-giveaway was that there was no Barcode on it. Don't be fooled by the pretty hologram! This item makes for a good educational tool, a novelty, conversation piece etc... but not with the high price. Thanks for looking. Look for others, SilverGoldStackers stories, on #silvergoldstackers.

Woah, I heard of this kind of shady business but to actually see a fraudulent brand coin holder. These cases are sold from China as Replica coin cases. A friend in Hong Kong showed me another coin poorly graded by another Chinese dealer. When I get it, I'll post it for posterity. The more knowledge the better.

Thanks again for looking, @kerrislravenhill. Yes, it is sad how desperate, people, of the World, are getting.

Who would send that in to be graded? They deserved getting it back like that.

Great that you can scoop it up in the bargain bin though!!

Thanks again for looking & commenting, @fat-elvis. I think everything about the grading is fake, a bogus grader, involved in everything. Only the coin is real. The $50 grading service is worthless. It was probably designed to be a scam.

Awww...
The coin is real. I hope you did pay more than what the coin sells for.

Thanks for looking, SILVER SAVER - @silversaver888. Yes, the $12(USD) price was a fair deal.

Great deal!

That’s PCGS’s way of telling the moron that sent it in he wasted his money. That’s how they slab a coin when it does not meet a numerical grade worth anything. either way it’s your silver

Thanks for looking & commenting, @silverd510. Yes, one never knows what can turn up, in a Local Coin Shop.
