Hi Hivers,
In the mail today a booklet from the Royal Dutch Mint with the coins for the fall (or autumn).
The main coin they show is the coin remembering modern Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan. Ever heard of him ? Well maybe you recognize his paintings of which the most known one is shown below.
Piet - born close to where I live in Amersfoort died in New York in 1944 at age 72. He made painting so abstract that only some lines remained often filled with colours as above but also left white.
In Utrecht there is the Rietveld- Schröder house inspired at the same idea. (Same colors and lines) . Rietveld was an architect/shrineworker (?).
(The AON on the pic is my insurance bill! haha)
