“Look! Swatch! We’ve got ta help heem!” Tipper ranted as he climbed half way up the rail and pointed towards Wolfe Island two hundred feet to the north.
“What?! Ahh don’t see nothin'!” Pine replied as grabbed Tipper by the shoulders and pulled him off the rail.
“Right thaur! Swatch at heem rin! He’s got nae whaur tae gang!” Tipper yelled in a tizzy.
“You’re eyes must be better than mine!” Pine said as he squinted and tried to make out the sight, “At-elvis! What da ye see from th' nest?!”
“It’s a dug Sairrr! Oot on th' peninsula…and there’s five wolves chasin' heem!” At-Elvis yelled down from his high perch.
“A dug?! What’s a dug doin' on Wolfe Island?!” Pine said as he continued to constrain Tipper.
"Lit me gang! We’ve got ta help heem!" Tipper yelled as he wrenched himself out of Pine’s hold and ran towards the galley stairs! (See: https://hive.blog/silvergoldstackers/@joshuaslane/silver-adventures-captain-joshua-slane-05ja21-we-have-to-save-him )

[Just south of Wolfe Island, Ontario...]
Boy Tipper nearly pulled the Captain up the stairs as they made their way out onto the main deck. By now, quite a few crewman were gathered at the starboard rail. Junior Petty Officers Oblinknackers, Ostpromoter and ilversaver888 all stood beside Pine as he pointed out across the northern water towards the island.
“What’s aw thes sooch an' fettle aboot a dug?” The Captain said gruffly as he pushed the men aside and took up a spot next to Pine at the rail.
Tipper pushed his way between them and climbed up on the rail post...“Reitt thaur! Reit thaur! It’s a dug! We’ve got ta help heem!” Tipper said as he pointed out at the long neck of land stretching west from the island.
“Hauld yer horses Laddie! Lit me tak' a swatch!” The Captain said as he slid open his long scope.
Eyeing the peninsula carefully, he finally spotted the dog running hard to the west. Fifty feet behind him in hot pursuit, ran five large wolves!
“Aye…it’s a dug...” The Captain said calmly.
“Help heem Sairrr! We’ve got ta sav heem!” Tipper yelled as he jumped down off the rail and began pulling on the Captain’s sleeve as he gazed up at him with pleading eyes.
“Blast an' cattertails! That’s aw Ahh need is anither boggin dug!” The Captain barked as he slid his scope shut, “Officer Errislravenhill!”
“Aye Sairrr?!” She called out from the bridge.
“Take th' dinghy an' two men ta row an' git ower ta 'att islain an' pick up th' blasted dug!”
“Aye, Sairrr!” Errisl called back as she ran down the bridge stairs and over to the rear of the main deck, “Junior Petty Officers Oldrooster and Nitech! Get that dinghy into the water!”
“Aye Sairrr!” “Aye, aye!”
Meanwhile, Tipper turned and began pulling on the Captain’s sleeve again, “They’s gainin' on heem! They's gainin' on heem Sairrr!”
“Oh bloody hell!” The Captain blurted out as he turned and grabbed a musket from the main mast rack.
Taking no aim at all, he pointed the musket towards the island and pulled the trigger!
Immediately the wolves skidded to a stop, glanced around in fear and then ran north into the woods! The dog however, paid no heed to the musket shot and continued to run west along the narrow point.
“Hmmm…he’s heard firearms afair…” The Captain mumbled as he handed the spent musket off to Pine.

Errislravenhill held the rudder of the dinghy boat steady for the south shore of the island as the two men rowing pulled hard. They made the short distance in less than five minutes…
With a scraping rumble, the dinghy ran up onto the gravelly shore and Errisl jumped out over the bow. She quickly jogged west along the bank of the river. There, just forty feet ahead, at the end of the point, stood the black dog with the bright white chest.
“Easy now…”She said softly as she approached the fearful animal, “Come…come on now…come an' see's me…”
Gradually the fear left the dog’s eyes and it slowly began walking towards her. Errisl met it half way and soon discovered it had a collar…
“'Att’s a good dug!” She said softly as she grabbed a hold of the leather collar, “What are ye doin' way oot haur?”
Carefully bringing the dog into the dinghy, they quickly made their way back to the Silverton. Even now they could hear the cheers from the men and above all, Tipper’s loud whistle!

Back at the ship, Oldrooster carried the shaking dog up the rope ladder and handed it to Junior Petty Officer Illielow.
“Thaur ye go dug…” He said as he set the animal down on the main deck.
Tipper quickly ran over and hugged the big black dog by the neck. Turning around towards the Captain he said, “Swatch Keptin! She’s a lassie dug!”
“Hmmf…” The Captain grunted.
“Ahh’ll call her... ‘Skye’!” Tipper exclaimed excitedly as he stroked her fur.
“Plotzblitz…another gob ta feed!” The Captain grumbled as he turned and walked toward the galley stairs.
[Down in the crewman's bunkroom...]
Junior Petty Officers Nitech and Sg-community sat on their bunks and smiled as Boy Tipper carefully brushed his new dog 'Skye', removing any briars or thistle pickers in her thick black coat. Beside her lie 'Doug' the bulldog...
"Loon, yoo're gonna' hav 'att dug lookin' loch a Glasgee champion wi' aw 'att groomin'!" Sg-community said with a smile.
"Aye Sairrr, but she's worth it! Jist swatch hoo she shines!"
"But she's a Lassie dug loon. Auld Doog haur might git ideas..." Nitech jested.
"Ideas? Ideas aboot whit?" Tipper said absently.
Nitech glanced at Sg-community and snickered and they both got up and left the boy to his diligent work.
