[Last time...]

“Put some authority in yer voice Laddie 'n' shout this oot; ‘Our flag is o' th' French East India company! We ur furriers 'n' hav contracts wi' Fort Pontchartrain du Détroit!”
“Aye Sairrr…” Bock nodded as he cleared his throat and called out in the loudest voice he could muster…

“Notre drapeau est de la Compagnie Française des Indes Orientales! Nous sommes fourreurs et avons des contrats avec le Fort Pontchartrain du Détroit!" (See: https://hive.blog/silvergoldstackers/@joshuaslane/silver-adventures-captain-joshua-slane-17no20-are-you-hearing-this-french-flap )

[On the St. Lawrence River, between La Grande and Grosbois Islands]

A long silence ensued. The Captain watched the gun deck on the fort without blinking. Commander Galligan stared across the river at the glowing lanterns with a stern eye. Cockpit Officer Errislravenhill stood as rigid as a foremast and Petty Officer Bock breathed heavily as he stood uncomfortably on the bridge deck...

Finally from out of the dark northern shore a voice called out…

"Quel est le nom de votre capitaine?!"

“What th' fock is he sayin' Petty Officer?!” The Captain growled.

Bock inhaled deeply and said, “He…he wants tae ken yer name…Sairrr.”
“Hmm…” The Captain grumbled as he gazed back at the fort for a moment, “Tells heem me name is... Captain… Filippe Bouchard!”
(See: https://hive.blog/steemsilvergold/@joshuaslane/silver-adventures-captain-joshua-slane-08de19-a-scottish-warship-way-out-here )

Commander Galligan turned and raised an eyebrow at the Captain. Officer Errislravenhill bit her lip, and Bock nodded as he called back…

“ Je suis le capitaine Filippe Bouchard!“

The Commander unfolded his arms and turned to his Lieutenant…

“Capitaine Filippe Bouchard?!” He said in great surprise, “That man is a well known officer of the French Navy!” (Translated)

“But now he sails under the French East India Company?” The lieutenant asked in confusion.
“You fool! He must have retired…” The Commander replied with irritation as he quickly called back, “Very sorry to detain you Captain! God’s speed to you on your voyage!”

[On the main deck of the Silverton…]

"Pardon Sairrr... what's goin' oan up thaur?!" Petty Officer At-elvis asked with a furrowed brow.

"Parley, mucker!" Standing Officer Andofzara replied with a grin, "A grand parley!"

[Up on the bridge...]

“Whit th' devil did he say mucker?!” The Captain grumbled.

Bock relaxed as his stress vanished and a broad smile spread across his face…

“He says he’s sorry tae hav interrupted uir progress! God’s speed oan yer voyage!”

The Captain pulled his scope down with a sly grin. Galligan glanced at Errislravenhill and she raised her eyebrows in relief!

“Weel noo, that’s mair loch it! Teel heem thenk ye an' keep up th' guid wark fur France!”

“Aye Sir!” Bock replied as he happily called out the response...

[Back on the gun deck of the fort…]

“Next time you see a ship lieutenant, get better eyes on it before you threaten it with a focking volley of eighteen pounders!” The Commander reprimanded as he turned and walked away.

“Yes Sir." The Lieutenant replied quietly as he gazed out across the the river with embarrassment.

Might take a bit of Waiting for the buy signal, may as well think of a plan to sneak into Fort Montreal like a ninja, take out the sentries, spike all the cannons, foul their powder, and paint a message inside their east wall in big letters,

"Merci pour le Poutine mes amis! ~ Th' Bluudy Raven!"
