Another beautiful one oz silver and opal coin lunar year of the pig series two from the Perth mint it's just something about the lunar opal series I love them the amount of detail and the way the black opal changes colour with different light, these coins are a great investment they always increase in value I have been buying these since they were created by the Perth mint back in 2016 these coins double in value every year with out fail. I paid just 99.95 Australian dollars at release in 2019 I sold it just 3 weeks ago for 299 dollars, the mintage has a lot to do with the price increase with just 5000 minted and anyone out side of Australia limited to 1 per customer this gives Australians the chance to make a great investment and great ROI since 2018 I have been buying 4-5 at release which is every January. The case is excellent with a small led light installed in the top of the case which is activated buy opening the case up it also comes with the Perth mint COA and it seems in the last year the lower number coins have increased in value even more, it shocks me that full sets of series two are going for around 5-7 thousand mark that's a massive ROI it seems the Perth mint is stepping up there game with two new types of black opal coins how ever the mint is keeping the release info very tight lipped.

The coin’s reverse design features a representation of a pig in authentic Australian opal. The gemstone center is embedded within a silver coin depicting stylized leaves and flowers. The inscription ‘YEAR OF THE PIG’ and the Chinese character for pig is also included in the design, together with the 2019 year-date, the coin’s weight and fineness and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mint mark

I can't seem to read the mintage of this coin.
What is it?
Great flip to triple your money.

Hi Kerri the mintage is only 5000 i think that's why the prices jump up

To me, mintages of 10k or less retain their premiums well if you are planning to sell later on but with premiums being much higher now, it will be tougher to get ahead. It is but one factor. Popularity and attractiveness are also factors that play a role in the value.

Happy as a Pig in Mud to see this Silver beauty.
