Hey guys! as I said in my previous post (and as I try to keep the promise) I'm uploading more frequently now that I have some paintings I've been doing.
This one is my first asian portrait that I feel good and in peace with. It was hard for me in the past years because asian features are very challenging for me, at least and never felt glad with the final result.
Meet Tori, she's a japanese designer who loves to express herself and is as free as a bird. Tori; "鳥" is a name wich also means bird in japanese and Tori is common known as the short name for the latin name Victoria i.e Victory. I think is a wonderful connection. Something I was also thinking is that if Tori represents * victory and freedom*, is also closely associated with birds because they can fly to whenever they want and that's a colective desire for us humans as terrestrial creatures. She has also a lastname; Midori; "緑" wich means Green. So, let me introduce you to my 7th creation for this series as Tori Midori
I like to imagine her as a self taught fashion designer and a street style lover.
¡Hola chicos! Como dije en mi publicación anterior (y mientras trato de cumplir la promesa), estoy publicando más frecuente ahora que tengo algunas pinturas que he estado haciendo.
Este es mi primer retrato asiático con el que me siento bien y en paz. Fue algo difícil para mí en los últimos intentos porque las características asiáticas son muy desafiantes (para mí, al menos) y nunca quedaba satisfecha con el resultado final.
Conozcan a Tori, ella es una diseñadora japonesa a la que le encanta expresarse y es tan libre como un pájaro. Tori; "鳥" es un nombre que también significa Pajaro en japonés y Tori es comúnmente conocido como el diminutivo del nombre latino Victoria, algo que correlacionamos con libertad. Creo que es una conexión maravillosa. Algo en lo que estuve pensando es que si Tori representa libertad, también está estrechamente asociado con las aves porque ellas pueden volar a donde quieran y eso es un deseo colectivo para nosotros los humanos como criaturas terrestres. Ella también tiene un apellido; Midori; "緑" que significa Verde. Así que permítanme presentarles mi séptima creación de esta serie como Tori Midori
Me gusta imaginarla como una diseñadora de moda autodidacta y amante de los estilos urbanos o tambien llamados street style.
