Today in this new post I will tell you the story of my banana plant. Almost two years ago, one of my aunts visited us and saw the plants she had planted in the courtyard and told me that she had been given some banana children. I smiled because I had no idea she was talking and imagined some very small bananas. After explaining to me what he meant, he said. I don't know, if they are still good since they have been ripped out for a long time.
A few days later I was carrying the banana plant sprout, but when I saw it, I thought, it's dead!...

Hoy en este nuevo post les contare la historia de mi planta de plátano. Hace casi dos años, una de mis tías nos visitó y vio las plantas que había sembrado en el patio y me comento que le habían regalado unos hijos de plátano, yo sonreí porque no tenía ni idea de que hablaba y me imagine unos plátanos muy pequeños. Después de haberme explicado a que se refería, me dijo. No sé, si todavía sirven ya que tienen mucho tiempo que los arrancaron.
Unos días después me llevaron el hijo de mata de plátano, pero cuando lo vi, pensé ¡ya se murió!...

El aspecto que tenía era de una planta ya muerta, mi padre me dijo tranquila hija vamos a sembrarlo y veremos qué pasa. Pasaron los días y se terminó de secar, mi papa lo reviso y me comento, -todavía está vivo… Al pasar unas semanas, comenzaron las lluvias y el día menos pensado brotaron pequeñas hojas, lo cual me sorprendió mucho y me lleno de alegría.

Several days passed and I didn't go out to check my plant and when I went to see it I was even more surprised, "another one had come out", I was very happy.

Pasaron varios días y no salí a revisar mi planta y cuando fui a verla quede aún más sorprendida, “había salido otra”, yo estaba muy contenta.

We removed one and replanted it in another place, a neighbor told us, that it was very rare that the plant had been born, since that land was no good, and he was right since the months passed and the plants were still the same size.

Retiramos una y la replantamos en otro sitio, un vecino nos comentó, que era muy raro que hubiera nacido la planta, ya que esa tierra no servía era una tierra mala, y tenía razón ya que pasaron los meses y las plantas seguían del mismo tamaño.

My mother told me that one day, daughter, I'm going to transplant your banana plant for the entrance of the house, that land is good... and she was very right since in a couple of months the plant was taller than me.

Mi madre me comento un día, hija voy a trasplantar tu plata de plátano para la entrada de la casa esa tierra es buena… y tenía mucha razón ya que en un par de meses la planta estaba más alta que yo.

When December arrived the plant was growing at a rate that had us all surprised and even people passing by said it was very beautiful and asked if it was cambur o banana.

Cuando llego diciembre la planta iba creciendo a un ritmo que nos tenía sorprendido a todos y hasta las personas que pasaban decían que estaba muy hermosa y preguntaban si era cambur o plátano.

The first shoots, we cut them so that the plant would have the strength to harvest a good bunch of bananas, but when we saw that a small leaf was coming out, my potato told me, ready daughter, the harvest is coming and I explain to myself that the last leaf before the harvest is small. So we let one of the shoots grow for a future harvest, and it is this one that I have embraced.

Los primeros retoños, los cortamos para que la planta tuviese fuerza para cosechar un buen racimo de plátano, pero cuando logramos ver que venía saliendo una hoja pequeña, mi papa me dijo, listo hija, ya viene la cosecha y me explico que la última hoja antes de la cosecha es pequeña. Así que dejamos crecer a uno de los retoños para una futura cosecha, y es este que tengo abrazado.

I love to sow, maybe because since I was a little girl I have helped my mom to fix the garden, but I like even more to sow plants that give me some fruit, and yes I have obtained a few, those who have seen my posts will know what I am talking about.

Me encanta sembrar, quizás porque desde muy pequeña he ayudado a mi mamá arreglar el jardín, pero me gusta aún más sembrar platas que me den algún fruto, y sí que he obtenido unos cuantos, quienes han visto mis post sabrán de que hablo.

Here I show you the first bunch of bananas that I have harvested and I am very happy and learning many new things, this photo was taken on April 7, 2020 that same day was cut the bunch taking advantage that it was full moon and that was another thing I learned but I tell you in the second part of this post.

Aquí le muestro el primer racimo de plátano que he cosechado y estoy muy contenta y aprendiendo muchas cosas nuevas, esta foto fue tomada el día 07 de abril 2020 ese mismo día fue cortado el racimo aprovechando que era luna llena y eso fue otra cosa que aprendí pero se las cuento en la segunda parte de este post.
