What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests(every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 184/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next year. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 35.60% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.
The free for all 3rd phase sale is on, and I had only enough funds to buy 68 packs. At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. Unlike right now. I believe that lands will be introduced next in the second quarter of 2022, I believe, with a price of 570$ on average for each at the moment. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.
The Shadow Snitch is a Common Death unit, from the Chaos Legion packs, costing 4 Mana, and at max level 10 it has 3 Melee Damage, 4 Speed and 7 Health. The skill provided are Reach from level 1, attacking from the second position, Affliction at level 6, to stop the tank healing, and Dodge at level 10 to evade the Melee and Ranged attack. There are many monsters with Reach in the Death Splinter, but this one is the cheapest option by far.
So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 22
Rulesets: Close Range (Ranged monsters can attack from the first position) and Holy Protection (all have Divine Shield)
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Thadius (decreasing opponent Magic and Health by 1), with Cursed Windeku as tank with Heal and Thorns, forever returning damage, Shadow Snitch as back-up, using Reach and Affliction, Shadowy Presence to boost all team Health by 1, Weirding Warrior with Shatter, just in case of a heavy armored enemy tank, Cursed Slimeball with Redemption, doing 1 Damage to all enemy monsters upon Death, last, for a Sneak or Opportunity opponent, and last, hidden in the magic due to Camouflage, Dr. Blight, with Poison, Affliction and Scavenger (+1 Health for each monster dying on the battlefield).
Opponent - Summoner: Mylor Crowling, giving all team Thorns skill to return damage, with Failed Summoner as main tank with Magic Reflect, a Micelyc Morphoid as extra defender, then a powerful Kron with Heal and Thorns , supported by a Wood Nymph with extra healing, and last, Acid Shooter as a cheap solution for extra damage, hitting randomly with Scattershot.
This was a interesting battle, but not much of a fight, as my opponent cards were level 1, and overall took me 3 rounds to kill all of them, with no loss. The story would have been different if the opponent would have at least one Sneak or Snipe in his party.
