The Mycelic Morphoid is here, don't go near, or you will lose your gear! (A Splinterlands battle challenge)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 261/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next year. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 25.8% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.

At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT and Riftwatchers pack are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. The Mycelic Morphoid is a Common Earth unit, from the Chaos Legion set, and at max level it has 2 Melee Damage, 3 Speed and 3 Health for only 1 Mana cost. Starting from level 3, it is gaining Thorns ability, returning melee damage. So, overall, there are some interesting way to use this card, as the last card, with extra Armor (combined with Queen Mycelia), can take out one or two cards before dying, if the ruleset is Little League or a low Mana battle. Equalizer is making this card a decent card returning damage for only 1 Mana. So this is the main advantage, low mana cost plus Thorns, even if the health is not that high.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 50

Rulesets: Equal Opportunity ( all monsters gain opportunity skill) and Reverse Speed ( low speed monsters attack first)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Obsidian (win a +1 Magic damage boost), the Pelacor Mercenary as a main tank with Flying, Heal and Retaliate, Goblin Mech second (Piercing was the reason of using it, to go through that +1 Armor) and Grund third mainly because he got Double Strike, as melee attackers using Opportunity, Gobling Psychic as healer, with extra skills as Silence, decreasing opponent's Magic and Affliction to stop enemy's heal, Queen Mycelia boosting the team with 2 extra Armor and healing with Triage, and Mycelic Morphoid, with Thorns boosted by the Queen Amplify.

Opponent - Summoner: Tyrus Paladium ( boosting his team with +1 Armor), with Silvershield Paladin as main tank with Magic Reflect and Shield (which I avoid attacking due to the opponent Taunt for the last place, Warrior of Peace decreasing my Melee and Ranged attack (luckily I had some mages), a ranged Silvershield Sheriff with Snipe and Piercing, Silvershield Assasin (I would have put this one before the Ranged Sherrif) with Double Strike and Poison, and in the back Billa the Radiant with Life Leech (extra Health when attacking) and the ShieldBearer with Taunt.

This was a interesting battle, and all my cards took down the Shieldbearer as they were taunted, as I only lost the Morphoid, second and third round were equally exciting, as my opponent lost Billa the Radiant, the Assassin and his main tank, the Paladin, while none of my cards died (hanging by a thread until Mycelia healed them in the last moment). The Silvershield Sherrif died in the fourth round, followed by its Warrior on the fifth one. Victory!

Star of the game - Queen Mycelia is really worth its costs, with the extra Armor and the healing provided by the Protect and Triage abilities, and the Amplify is great combined with the Mycelic Morphoid Thorns.

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1 million. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (105K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, working on acquiring 50K Oneup (6650 UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game.
