Battle Share Thumbnail - Life Sapper.gif

We will use Life Sapper in this week's Share Your Battle weekly challenge. We'll also check to see if it works well with the new Death Summoner, Dallan.

Life Sapper

The Life Sapper is a 3 level mage death monster that can increase its life as it deals damage.

  • Price Chart

We can see that the Life Sapper is close to the cheapest price and is starting to go up in price right now. Maybe is a good opportunity if you want to grab one.

  • Status

Life Sapper Status.png

  • At level 1 it has Life Leech, this ability means that it can increase it's health in proportion to the damage dealt at the enemy monster's life.
  • At level 8 it gains the Redemption ability. So with it, when this monster dies it'll deal 1 damage to the enemy monsters. Keep in mind that the damage is Melee, so shield can protect against it.
  • TIP: As it has low health, it is recommended to protect it to give time to build up their hp.

  • Combo Cards

CardCombo
Carrion Shade_lv1.png
Carrion Shade
Carrion Shade can take another hit in behalf of Life Sapper, so that it gets the time needed to grow stronger.
Corpse Fiend.png
Corpse Fiend
Just like Carrion Shade, the Fiend of the Death Element, Corpse Fiend, can be place at the back or at the front to that that extra hit.

  • Counters

CardDisadvantage
Card_ability_magic-reflect.webp
Magic Reflect
Monsters with this ability like Failed Summoner can be a nightmare to mages, because it reflects the magic damage.
Card_ability_void.webp
Void
The void ability reduces the damage from magic attacks, and in the case the attack is 1, like the Life Sapper's attack, it'll reduce to 0.

  • Favorable Rulesets

RulesetWhy
img_combat-rule_equalizer_150.png
Equalizer
With all monsters at the same highest health, the small health monsters are good choices, because their weakness vanishes.
img_combat-rule_fog-of-war_150.png
Fog of War
When this ruleset shows up you can place your Life Sapper at the last position, and then it'll keep dealing damage and increasing its health until it goes all the way to the first position.

  • Bad Rulesets

RulesetWhy
img_combat-rule_earthquake_150.png
Earthquake
It's not a good idea to use low health monsters with this ruleset. So as Life Sapper has only 2 hearts don't use it.
img_combat-rule_equal-opportunity_150.png
Equal Opportunity
Only use Life Sapper or other weak health monsters if you have other lower health monsters in your line-up like a Corpse Fiend.
img_combat-rule_noxious-fumes_150.png
Noxious Fumes
Same explanation as with Earthquake, but this time is a little worse because you'll lose points at your health directly.

What will be the impact of the New Summoner at Life Sapper?

Dallan.png

Dallan, is the new Death Summoner from Riftwatchers. It gives the Cripple ability to your monsters. With this setup, it'll be a nice counter to high health monsters like Shield Bearer and to lineups that uses Heal. So if your enemy is using a tank for example Unicorn Mustang with Goblin Psychic your monsters will decrease the enemy tank's life to the point it'll only heal +1 instead of +2 or in some cases +3.

I think this could be the "Death" of Kron+Lhamma, what do you think? 🍀.

Battle - LINK

The monster chosen were:

  • At the First Position the Cursed Windeku was the choice because it is an amazing monster with thorn, huge hp and 2 damage a good deal for 6 mana.
  • Furious Chicken was placed in the second position to tank one more hit to give Life Sapper more time to buff itself.
  • At the back line we had Xenith Archer, Soul Strangler and Dhampir Stalker for the damage.

image.png

I was unlucky in this battle at the end the enemy killed my monster one after the other. With that the archers arrived at the first position very fast and stopped doing damage.

I would've placed another card at the Xenith Archer position, so it could attack at the first position.

My Thoughts about Life Sapper

Life Sapper_lv1.png

In my opinion I think the Life Sapper is a must-have for all Death summoner players, the ability to gain health makes it a tricky monster if it can be protected.

  • Magic Damage
  • Low Mana -> Can be used in a lot of matchups.
  • Can become a third tank if it can stake the health up.
