The Forgotten One: The Fire Warrior with Poison Immunity

During the time that Chaos Legion packs were not released yet, every time I see the Noxious Fumes battle rule, the first monster that comes to mind is Almo Cambio due to his immunity ability. However, since the release of CL packs, my first option has changed from Almo Cambio to the Forgotten One, not only because the latter is immune from poison, but he also has high health, strong shield, and superior Melee attack.

In the three battles that I am about to share, you will see the demonstration of such ability. But before we do that, let me disclose first a piece of lore concerning this fighter.

The Forgotten One as we are told is actually created as a powerful weapon for war. However, for unknown reason, his existence was forgotten and prior to his summoning, he was actually slumbering in the most hidden part of an unknown fiery abyss. Now that he has been released to spread chaos and terror, we don’t know the extent of destruction he is capable of. To prevent such, better to include this monster on your fighting team!

First Battle

The first battle is fire against earth. The rules are Noxious Fumes and Broken Arrows. A battle under Noxious Fumes rule means that the health of all the monsters shall be reduced two points due to poison. Broken Arrows on the other hand prevents warriors with Ranged attack to enter the battle field.

This is a 50 mana cap battle. Typically, with such a high mana fight, I go for a mixture of Dragon and Fire Splinters. But this time, I am looking for a high health warrior and someone with immunity from poison. My number one option is the Forgotten One. In my mind, other warriors are just there to receive the enemies’ attack and endure the poison to hand the victory to the Forgotten One.

To assist the Forgotten One in this deadly battle, I have chosen the Disintegrator due to his ability to demoralize the enemies. This ability reduces the Melee attack of all enemy monsters.

The other player has Goblin Psychic, the tank healer of the team; Mycelic Slipspawn with its ability to focus all the enemies attack to him due to its high health; Unicorn Mustang, a powerful tank against magic attackers with its void ability, and; Mycelic Infantry, another powerful tank due to its shield ability to reduce damage coming from both Ranged and Melee attackers. Unicorn Mustang is the only monster in the opponent’s camp that can depend itself against Ifrit Rising.

The battle lasts only for five rounds. The first round started with an advantage on my team due to Disintegrator. All Melee attackers of the opponent’s camp were demoralized. The Melee weapon of Unicorn Mustang, Elven Defender, and Mycelic Infantry has been subtracted with one attack.

Prior to second round, my tank, Charlok Minotaur was taken down by the combined attacks of both the enemies and the poison. My team fought back by slaying Mycelic Slipspawn. Ifrit Rising with just one strike took down this powerful tank with taunt ability. This is due to his recharge ability that multiplies his magic attack into three after skipping one round.

The third round starts with Goblin Psychic eliminated due to poison. This is the turning point of the battle. Such a powerful healer has the ability to restore the health of the tank, which makes the battle very tough. Disintegrator was taken down by Regal Peryton.

In the fourth round, finally, Regal Peryton died due to poison. Ifrit Rising had Mycelic Infantry as his second victim.

Both Elven Defender and Ifrit Rising were not able to enter the last round for poison killed them both. The fifth round started with one final attack from Unicorn Mustang before it was finally slain by the Forgotten One.

Second Battle

This time, it’s fire against fire. Rules are Stampede and Noxious Fumes again. With the Stampede rule, the monster with trample ability has the big advantage for it “can trigger multiple times if the trampled monster is killed.”

Similar to the first battle, this one also lasts five rounds. Furious Chicken was taken down by Djinn Apprentice with the latter’s magic attack. Tenyii Striker retaliated by killing Radiated Scorcher, the enemy in the last position. Lava Launcher ended the round by slaying Flame Monkey.

Round 3 started with both Charlok Minotaur and Scavo Chemist died due to poison. Again, Lava Launcher ended the third round with Tenyii Striker as his second victim.

The fourth round began with the Forgotten One against two enemies, Lava Launcher and Tenyii Striker. Both enemies were dying due to constant poisoning. Since the Forgotten One is faster than Lava launcher, he has the advantage of first attack killing the enemy. Tenyii Striker, though he has three Melee attacks, still the strength of his weapon is not enough to finish the Forgotten One. After giving his last blow, poison took him to the other world.

Third Battle

Our final battle is death versus dragon. As you will observe, the other player has the advantage in terms of card levels for three of his monsters are at level three. Silent Sha-vi, a sneak attacker is at level four, while Harklaw is at level two, also with immunity ability. Finally, the Forgotten One has met his match.

Personally, this is the most exciting fight among the three. The battle lasted for seven rounds. Watching this battle, you will see a demonstration that level one cards can win over higher-level cards. The most important thing in winning the fight is the composition and the position of the monsters in the team.

My summoner is Daria Dragonscale, a powerful dragon summoner has given four of his monsters in the team an additional Melee attack. But this additional Melee attack was invalidated by the Disintegrator.

As usual, the rules include Noxious Fumes. The other rule is Lost Magic. This rule means that monsters with magic may not be used in battle. With such a rule, the players remaining option is to use monsters with either Melee or Ranged attacks.

Round one, only Furious Chicken perished.

Round two is the fiercest round for three warriors died coming from both camps. Lira the Dark due to her 6 speed, 3 Ranged attacks, and opportunity ability has taken down Sandworm. Dragon Jumper on the other hand killed Cursed Windeku, the enemy’s tank. Ettin Spearman too was taken down by Silent Sha-vi.

Round three, Lira the Dark and Dragon Jumper, monsters with opportunity ability from both teams died due to poison.

Round four started with Silent-Sha-vi, Disintergator, and Grum Flameblade taken down by poison. Noxious Fumes is really a very deadly rule. The battle is now two against one. Both tanks have immunity ability, but the other player has Riftwing on Harklaw’s side. This monster is a scavenger who gains one health every time a monster die. He is actually the primary beneficiary in this lethal fight.

Both rounds five and six show a vicious combat between two monsters with similar immunity ability. However, the high health and big Melee attack of the Forgotten One is too powerful for Harklaw. He finally perished at round six.

Entering round seven, since Riftwing has no offensive weapon, it is now defenseless before the Forgotten One. In the end, immunity ability has the upper hand over scavenging ability.

Note: Sorry for the battle pictures. My desktop has no Internet connection so I could not use the bigger screen. But I have to find a way using the smaller screen of my lap top, and so I cut the battle screen into three and combined them into one.
