Finally I was able to finish this illustration, it was better than expected although it did not turn out as I imagined it. I was inspired by that part of the story where she, after her pain at losing her lover, lets all her power escape. At first I had thought of including the witch's body split in half but I didn't know very well how to do it without making it look so explicit, so while I was making the background playing with the lights and the fire it occurred to me include only the shadow.

Finalmente pude terminar esta ilustración, fue un mejor de lo esperado aunque no quedo tal cual como lo imaginaba. Me inspire en esa parte de la historia donde ella tras su dolor al perder a su gran amor deja escapar todo su poder. Al principio había pensado en incluir el cuerpo de la bruja partido a la mitad pero no sabía muy bien como hacerlo sin que se viera tan explícito, así que mientras iba realizando el fondo jugando con las luces y el fuego se me ocurrió que se viera únicamente la sombra.

As for the background, I don't have much to say except that I keep working and trying to improve in order to achieve the narrative I'm looking for with my illustrations, and as I've always said, the backgrounds are a huge challenge that I haven't been able to master yet.
En cuanto al fondo no tengo mucho que decir salvo que sigo trabajando e intentando mejorar para poder lograr la narrativa que busco con mis ilustraciones y como siempre he dicho, los fondos son un enorme reto que aún no he podido dominar.

So beautiful! I love the body expression of the character too much, angry and helpless, kneeling but never defeated. I also love the landscape that the character is in, the summoning portal in the middle of the devastated and burning place makes it look as if the character lost the battle, she is retreating but she will take revenge
