After some extensive fighting today I managed to reach the GOLD II level on this seasons splinterlands. This gives me 26 loot chests at the end of the bi-weeekly season.
My experience so far
I've plaied splinterlands for just about two weeks now and I've enjoyed it so far. It's quick pased and requires some good planning when you play. With just about two minutes to get a good team together based on the match requirements, it's not always that easy.
My records so far is about 50% matches won.

When you buy the "Spellbook Promotion", you will recieve a free random card from the Untamed set.
I've been playing on and off, but I've only ever made it to bronze 5 haha. Not got many cards at the moment.
I bought a few cards from PeakMonsters, but only for about US$ 20, the rest where from DAC and loot chests. With the HIVE fork I guess more are using up their "overfloow" steem to buy cards if they are in the game :)
Yeah that's what I did to get started in the game, besides dropping $10 on the monster book thing to unlock quests. My remaining steem generally gets spent on slinterlands or buying tokens on hive engine.
