I haven't bothered with rentals and I have started investing into the liquidity pools instead. The returns there are higher and the rental market returns have slowed down.
As for riftwatchers, I haven't bought any cards but I have noticed that there is a lot of high mana cards in that deck.

I agree regarding the rental market. So I am renting all my gold foil and legendaries. How do you get cash into those Liquidity Pools?
