I ended Splinterlands Season 53 right where I wanted to be, in Diamond League tier 2. Oh sure it would have been nice to make it up to tier 1 or even Champion League, where the rewards fall into your outstretched hands like Mana from Heaven. But I don't have the cards to compete in those levels so I'm happy to bang around in my comfort zone and pick up the meager scraps of DEC that fall from the over stuffed pockets of the big boys.

Looking at my performance I see that I competed in 150 matches which I think is a little low. Too many time I finished up my daily quest and didn't stick around for any additional matches. And while my Win/Loss ration was right where I would like it to be at 1.54 I am leaving rewards on the table by not competing in more matches. I'll set my goal for 200 matches this season and see how that affects my reward outcome.

Looks like my best Ruleset this season were Super Sneak, Stampede, Target Practice and Equalizer. Unfortunately Earthquake was the second most frequent Ruleset and my worst performing. I'll have to work on my strategy for that one. Maybe leveling up some of my flying cards would help...

Here's the part I most enjoy! The highlights of my rewards this season, 1 common Gold Foil card and 4 regular Epic cards along with over 7500 DEC from Reward Chests and 4175 DEC from ranked play. Compare that to last season where I won significantly less DEC while competing in more matches.
Even though I competed in less matches this season I still managed to increase the amount of DEC I won. Timing has a lot to do with that. DEC flows more freely for wins in the beginning of the season and dries up by the end when everyone is churning matches trying to climb up the leaderboard. "Get your wins in early" is my motto and I prefer to sit out of the end of season grind.
