Recall that Mr Virgil van Dijk was one of the nominated players out of whom the winner of Ballon D'or trophy will emerge.
Now, every indicator is pointing at Lionel Messi to emerge the winner of this covetous French trophy. This situation may account for why C. Ronaldo is most likely gonna be absent. In fact, since most speculations and guesses are going towards Messi, most people expect C. Ronaldo to be absent during the event as always has been his tradition.
But Virgil van Dijk seems to have more grasp as to what football is all about, going by his declaration on the eve of the event. While confirming he's gonna be in Paris on Monday evening for the August event, he said there's no loser and everyone is a winner! That's maturity of highest degree!
I am sure C. Ronaldo might not be willing to make such declaration. He appears to take event like that too personal, especially when every indicator is pointing at Lionel Messi. And i think that's crass stupid!..
"I think there are no losers on that evening", he had said.
That's the kind of clear mind every player is supposed to have. And not I own it all sorta mindset.
