There have been uproar from the camp of Valencia after their popular coach Marcelino was fired by the Club owner Peter Lim on Wednesday. However, instead of the sack to be welcomed by an ovation, fans and players have reacted in disapproval of such move, describing it as provoking and uncalled for. No doubt, The fired coach Marcelino has over the years won the affection of both supporters and the players and has led them to major glory(beating Barcelona last season to win the Copa del Rey).

He is undoubtedly Valencia's most successful manager for the past decade. Funny enough, the new coach is Celades who really has no club football experience apart from being an assistant coach at Real Madrid during Julen Lopetegui's tenure as Los Blancos coach. Over the years, Valencia have been under the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid without having a taste of a silverware, but here came a man who navigated them out of that web and even went ahead to beat the league champions to lift the Copa Del Rey.

I need not remind us that Valencia is also in the Champions league and will be battling it out with Europa League champions Chelsea by next week. This is a very wrong decision by the owner of the club and whoever is involved in orchestrating Marcelino's sack. This is happening at a time when many thought that Valencia have finally found their stamina to gun for trophies and become a force to reckon with both in Spain and Europe. Madrid is currently in ruins and are still unable to find their way back to their standard even after bringing back Zidane. The departure of Ronaldo remains one of the greatest administrative mistake Real Madrid have made as a club. I doubt if this is what Peter Lim wanna witness in Valencia, but it's not hard to say that this crisis will wreck havoc in the squad.

An Advantage For Barcelona and Chelsea?

Barcelona and Chelsea will sure not be sad about what's happening currently in Valencia, as both teams could take advantage of the little distraction this in-house uproar will occasion no the team. Valencia will traveling to Camp Nou to face the League champion Barcelona on Saturday, and this is the least thing that should happen to them ahead of such encounter. It will affect the team psychologically and of course the modifications that the new coach will expect the players to adjust to as soon as possible.

For Frank Lampard, this could turn out all good for him. The young coach has come under criticisms due to Chelsea's form so far, a Champions league opening win against a Copa Del Rey winner at Stamford Bridge will go a long way to douse the tension and boost the squad's confidence. In all, it's not gonna be easy for Valencia and to me, this is a wrong decision at the wrong time by Peter Lim.
