Hi Gardeners,
The apple tree in my garden shoots nice vertical branches already some years and it was time do do something about it. I postponed it often but now went for it.
I used ladder, saw and saw on a stick and a cutter to make the cut branches smaller. Gloves and old clothes ofcourse.
The result is an apple tree in shape again:
Wish I had made a "before"picture but you can see here what came of it:
The long branches (~20)
Clusters taken out with the saw
The smaller branches hanging of the vertical branches. One can say that the vertical branches were all new little appletrees. It was just getting too big.
I spent the second day cutting the smaller branches in pieces with the cutter so I can give them away with the garbage (green container)
The branches I will bind together and mid september there is one more pick up day by the county. The chunks I will bringaway myself.
No accidents happened and the neighbour wife already gave a compliment. She get more sun now.

I have the same situation my friend, I have been putting off trimming my Apple tree. It is blocking part of my Solar with the new growing branches……you just reminded me time to trim 😊
What a job well done! But I saw immature apple fruit on the ground...how I wish they have feet or hands to climb back to the tree 'till they are ripe, lol!
