China's "steemit.com" block and its Impact
It is heard that China has blocked access to "steemit.com" and "steemconnect.com".
This is not surprising. China has already blocked global services such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to maintain its communist regime and it has long since blocked South Korean services such as "Line" and "Kakaotalk".
Assuming that China has really blocked "steemit.com", let's examine its impact.
First, you need to look at country-specific access statistics.(Daily average)

As you can see from the above table, the number of visitors of steemit.com in China is 10th in terms of access statistics by country, but the share of visitors is only 2.1%, and the page view share is very low at 0.7%.
So IMO, the impact on "steemit.com" is actually very small. Of course, the decline in intrinsic value appears to be very small, but that and short-term STEEM price fluctuations may be a separate issue.
Of course, it can be a sad news for some Chinese prospective witnesses.
It was hard to imagine that global SNS services would be introduced into China, where communism-based censorship and control were too strong and domestic industrial protectionism was intense. So I am not surprised at this news at all.
Due to Venezuela 's recent internal strife, China is in a climate of increased control and censorship.
However, if users in China want to use STEEM, they may still be able to connect to other dapps, or use VPNs(Virtual Private Network).
Additional interesting points from country-specific access statistics
Now that we have access statistics by country, let's look at a few more interesting things.
The top three countries (US, Korea, and India) have a 45% share of visitors and a 47% share of page views.
In the past, South Korea has always had a higher share of page views than the share of visitors, but it seems that the share of pageviews has been somewhat lowered because the number of articles belonging to the Dapp category increased and users of automatic voting bots increased.
And the interesting thing is that in the case of Nigeria and Ireland, the share of visitors is only 1%, but the share of page views is 5.5% and 4.5% respectively.
Without special variables, the Steemians of Nigeria and Ireland seem to enjoy active curating.

In particular, the increase in pageview share in Ireland is amazing. Not in the past. The population of Ireland is only about 5 million, but GDP per capita is as high as $ 80,000.

중국이 "steemit.com"과 "steemconnect.com"의 접속을 차단했다는 소식이 들리고 있습니다.
이것은 그리 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. 중국은 공산주의 체제유지를 위해, 이미 글로벌 서비스인 "유튜브", "트위터", "페이스북" 등을 차단했고,"Line", "Kakaotalk" 등 남한의 서비스마저 차단한지 오래되었습니다.
중국이 정말 "steemit.com"을 차단했다고 가정하고, 그 영향을 점검해보겠습니다.
우선 국가별 접속통계를 살펴볼 필요가 있습니다.(일평균)

위 표에서 보다시피, 국가별 접속통계 기준으로 중국의 steemit.com접속자수 비중은 10위지만, 접속자수 점유율은 불과 2.1%에 불과하고, 페이지뷰 점유율은 0.7%로 매우 낮습니다.
따라서 개인적 의견으로는, 사실상 "steemit.com"에 미치는 영향은 매우 적다고 할 수 있습니다. 물론 내재가치의 감소폭은 매우 적을 듯하지만, 그것과 단기적인 STEEM가격 변동은 별개의 문제일수도 있습니다.
또한 일부 중국계 예비증인들에게는 안타까운 소식일 수 있습니다.
광대한 잠재적 시장을 잃었다고 보기에는, 애초에 공산주의에 기초한 검열과 통제가 너무 강하고 자국산업 보호주의가 극심한 중국에, 글로벌SNS서비스가 진출하는 것은 생각조차 하기 어려웠습니다. 따라서 적어도 제게는 이 소식이 전혀 놀랍지 않습니다.
최근 베네주엘라의 내분 사태를 보면서, 중국은 통제를 더욱 강화하는 분위기입니다.
하지만 중국의 사용자들이 꼭 STEEM을 쓰려한다면, 아직까지는 아마도 다른 dapp으로 접속할수도 있고, 힘들겠지만 VPN(Virtual Private Network)등으로 우회할 수도 있을 것입니다.
국가별 접속통계에서 추가로 몇가지 흥미로운 점
이왕 우리가 국가별 접속통계를 봤으니, 흥미로운 점 몇 가지 더 살펴볼까요?
상위 3개국가(미국, 한국, 인도)의 접속자수 점유율은 무려 45%, 페이지뷰 점유율도 무려 47%에 달합니다.
한국의 경우 과거에는 접속자수 점유율보다 페이지뷰 점유율이 늘 높았지만, 디앱 관련 글들의 비중이 늘고 자동투표봇 사용자가 늘면서 페이지뷰 점유율이 크게 떨어진 점이 조금 아쉽습니다.
그리고 재미있는 점은 나이지리와와 아일랜드의 경우 접속자수 점유율은 불과 1%수준이지만, 페이지뷰 점유율이 각각 5.5%, 4.5%에 달한다는 것입니다.
특별한 변수가 없다면, 나이지리아와 아일랜드의 스티미언들은 여전히 활발한 큐레이팅을 즐기는 것 같습니다.
특히 아일랜드의 페이지뷰 점유율 증가가 놀랍습니다. 과거에는 그렇지 않았습니다. 아일랜드 인구는 약 5백만명에 불과하지만, 인당GDP는 무려 8만불이나 됩니다.

China can try to ban whatever they want, in the end we only need to make another way to access the blockchain that china can use! if not steemit.com then busy or esteem, there are so many different ways of accessing and posting on the blockchain that china will never be able to stop this!!
I wonder why Nigeria and Ireland curate so much... It must have some social-psychology factor that influences both of those countries in curating so much... Maybe Irish people are drunk curating ahahah, gotta try doing that too...

In China, if you are an existing user, you can find another bypass route. However, it will be very uncomfortable for most new users. Chinese society is a society that is difficult to understand from a global perspective. Given their international contribution, calling them G2 is a very overrated one.
The situation in Nigeria and Ireland is somewhat surprising, as curation is largely stagnant. They will not upvote with drunkenness. :) But I also like "drinking songs" like "Whiskey in the Jar" in Ireland. Would you like to hear it? Even this song was so exciting that it was used as a song of the Northern Army in the American Civil War, and "Metalica" remake it.

From everything I've seen, china is going to be a powerhouse in some years, surpassing the USA and all the other countries! China has a really good eye for business and innovation... they might be restricting the use of steemit but they already have a solution up and running called ONO if I'm not mistaken, I haven't used it very much but from what i understand it's also a social network that runs on top of a blockchain, my problem with it is that it requires KYC...
Sooner or later I'll visit china! To see if all the FUD is true or not...

I have visited China more than 10 times on business. Also, because South Korea is close to China, we hear a lot of news from time to time.
Since foreigners are not under control, if you look at big cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen and Macao, you may feel that China's appearance is very prosperous and as large as their population. Moreover, Hong Kong is a city nurtured by Britain, but now it is China and it is a global city.
However, SNS is especially censored because it is under a long-term dictatorship by the Communist Party. China's president is currently under no fixed term. The Chinese people do not have the right to vote. Also, large rural areas in China still need a lot of development. (Even in Hong Kong, of course, control has intensified since it was returned, and the previous free atmosphere has greatly decreased.)
It's true that Some products in China are of better quality than low price. It wasn't like that in the past. China's GDP has become G2. But the GDP of each of the Chinese people is not so good, and in general it's still poor.
First of all, China still has a very low contribution to the world today, although they have developed easily under the "most favored nation" status they have received in the past. In order to strengthen their communist regime, they are still carrying out a strategy of destitution to neighbor countries and preventing the expansion of liberal democracy.

요즘 우리나라의 행보를 보면 남의 나라 이야기만 같지는 않네요. ^^;;
그나저나 인도가 3위인것은 상당히 의외네요.
ㅎㅎ 아니라고 하긴 힘들죠. 말하자면 끝도 없는. 안타깝습니다. 글로벌 흐름과 달리 홀로 역추세를 타고 있는 것 같습니다.
뭐 사실 역사적으로 보자면 조선왕 상당수가 북경 방향에 절을 하던, 가장 강한 제후국 정도의 지위에 가까웠으니, 뿌리부터 중국몽을 꿈꾸는 친중성향의 이들이 아직도 많을 수 밖에 없을 겁니다.이들은 어찌보면 우리에게는 마이너한 미국과 일본 내부 뉴스들로 우리에게 분노를 일으키려 하고, 북한인권 및 북한과 중국의 수많은 훨씬 심한 문제들에 대해 눈을 감고 한 마디도 못하고 오히려 그들과 공조하려 하죠. 시간이 많이 흐르고 그것도 긍정적인 방향으로 (미국 및 일본 등 서양과 협력을 강화하는 방향으로) 진행되어야만 우리도 진짜 선진국이 될 수 있지 않을까 합니다. 아직 주요 선진국들에 비해 자유민주정부 건국 후 역사가 너무 짧죠.
그리고 인도 인구는 공식적으로는 중국 인구랑 거의 맞먹더라구요. ^_^
만약 인도가 차단되면 살짝 충격은 있겠네요. 국가마다 광고단가 수준에 있어 큰 차이가 있기에 설령 그렇다해도 내재가치 면에서 큰 충격은 아닐 거라 생각합니다. (미국 광고단가와 인도 광고단가는 비교 불가겠죠)

steemit.com을 막은 것이고, 다른 디앱들을 막지는 않았다고 들었습니다. 물론, steemconnect.com까지 막았다면 좀 타격이 있겠지만, 우회루트도 아직은 많지 않을까 싶은데요. 확정된 사실이 아닐 수도 있구요.
여튼 유감이네요. 베네수엘라 대통령이 2명이 된 상황을 보면서, 더욱 통제와 검열을 강화하는 것 같습니다.

네 위의 통계가 완벽할 수는 없지만 아마 그런 것 같습니다. Weku라고 들어본 것 같습니다.
공산주의인지라 암호화폐에 대한 통제도 이전부터 있었던 것 같은데..
참 이렇게보니 대단하네요 그냥 막아버리고...
네 그래도 뒤로는 일부 홍콩 기반 거래소들과 채굴업체들로 돈은 잘 챙겼거나 챙기고 있을 겁니다. ^_^ 여튼 통제가 이전부터 있었기 때문에, 그래서 기대감 자체가 별로 없었기 때문에, 타격도 적을 것 같네요. 역설적으로 거주민들에 대해서는 너무 잘 살게 해주면 뒤집어질 우려가 커지니 밸런스 맞추기가 쉽지 않을 것 같네요.

대체로 공감하고 평소 유쓰미님의 소신과 큐레이션 노력 등은 잘 알고 있습니다.
디앱 카테고리의 비율이 매우 높아진 것은 사실이고 일장일단이 있기에 그에 대해 가치판단은 유보하고 있습니다.
다만 PoB는 양보하더라도 적어도PoC(Contents)는 되어야 한다는 개인적 생각을 가지고 있습니다. 이 기준에 의하면 말씀대로 액티핏 안에도 약간의 콘텐츠를 담아야 할 것 같고(최소 5줄 이상 무언가 쓰게 되어 있는 것 같더군요), 그럼에도 불구하고 걸음수 기준으로 보팅이 나가는 것은 (SP쓰는것은 당사자의 자유에 가깝지만) 마냥 바람직해보이지는 않습니다.
하지만 액티핏 글 안에도 몇 줄의 콘텐츠가 들었다면 어떤 범주든 그 가치는 독자들이 매기게 되겠죠. 물론 그 배분에 있어 사실 문제가 많고 설계목적대로 작동이 안되고 있는 아쉬움에 대해 많은 분들이 문제를 제기하고 일부는 떠나신 것 같습니다.
덧붙여서 kr은 카테고리별로 기본보팅 차이가 커졌기 때문에 약간의 밸런스 조정은 필요해 보입니다.
