RE: How to Save Steem

in #steem4 years ago (edited)

We can part ways without “stealing” anything from anyone.

Very true. A couple of points however...

  • By leaving it would seem like Mr. Sun would be stealing our brand, like Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash's struggle with the exchanges. A real hard fork should have been the ultimatum given to Mr. Sun instead of HF22.2, yet it wasn't. So here we are...

  • Without a software solution against hostile majority stake attacks there would be nothing stopping a replay of these events on a forked chain. A analog solution would be to @null|Mr. Sun at the earliest so as to send the message to other potential malicious agents to not fuck with our community until software means are in place to thwart such take overs. Already positive suggestions are coming forward that could be used in tandem with one another.

Given enough rope

My feeling is that should Mr. Sun get consensus to force a STINC hard HF that it will be a bigger disaster than HF20, which will require the pre-TRON witnesses to fix. That will be our opportunity to get a @null|Mr. Sun hard HF on the exchanges that choose to list STEEM.

My feeling is to fight on for STEEM; only excepting STEEM Classic if all else fails.
