Get the STEEM Vote Out
Hello my Steemians. I have been sidelined by work and nothing more. I hope you all find yourselves well, as well as your families and all those you love and care about.
It seems that 2020 continues to keep us all on edge, if not at least wondering about what is to come next. For some reason these past three months have all had a sort of dreamy or foggy quality to them, leaving you guessing as to whether the events were real or not. It continues to be that way now for me with all that is going on around us.
The day of and the fews days after the New York 9/11 event were similar in this feeling. I recall looking up into the sky and wondering where all the planes were. The streets were eerily quite and peaceful, something that a major city only sees for a very short span of time in the very early morning hours like 3 or 3:30 am, because by 4am, the city rustles from its slumper to begin the new day. Those days following 9/11 were super quiet even mid-day in the middle of the city, and now it seems we find ourselves in similar situations.
Now that China seems to have gotten over the brunt of the Coronavirus flu epidemic, it is returning to some sense of normalcy (or so it seems) as the rest of the world now begins to deal with spread of this sickness. Countries the world over are enacting measures of self-quarantine by closing schools and banning large gatherings while some are using Law Enforcement to contain the spread with forced quarantines.
Europe seems to be the current epicenter for the outbreak, with Italy practically quarantining itself as a whole country from the rest of the world. Now other countries are beginning to follow suit by restricting travel in and out of country. It seems like the whole world is preparing to go into a lockdown of some sort in order to wait this thing out and prevent its spread.
All the while in the lands of virtual blockchains, it seems that the surrealism of the real world follows us here as well. The War for control of the STEEM Blockchain (and yes it is a tug of war) is not over by far. It seems that we are currently at an impasse, with Justin Sun on one side, the OG Steem witnesses with their Steem Blockchain supporters on the other and in the middle of it all with the deciding cast, the at Proxy.token account, which represents many Korean Steem accounts as their witness proxy voter.
In my last post I incorrectly believed that the Steem Blockchain had been saved due to the OG witnesses now being the top 10 Witnesses. The following 10 witnesses are controlled by Justin Sun. It is these top 20 witnesses that matter as to what version of the STEEM Blockchain is being used. So for the moment, from what I understand, we are shall we say "stuck," like in a frozen state of indecisiveness.
Justin Sun wants to power down in 3 days, and either sell his share and leave or possibly merge it with the Tron blockchain and no more Steem Blockchain. Regardless of what exactly he wants to do with his STEEM, it Does Not appear that he has the STEEM Blockchain and its community in mind or consideration when he does speak or write about the Steem blockchain. It is only about what he believes and wants. The OG witnesses are trying to protect the whole STEEM Blockchain from possible demise by the actions of Justin Sun, which many fear would be the end of the STEEM Blockchain. The OG witnesses want to keep the STEEM blockchain as it was prior to Justin Sun's ownership of Steemit Inc and its STEEM stake, but with a twist where the Steemit inc owned STEEM has no voting rights for witnesses. This will help prevent Justin Sun from Voting In All His Own Witness, which would allow his full control of the Steem Blockchain if this were to happen (again).
In the middle of Tug of War for the STEEM Blockchain, and with a heavy hand to cast the final vote it seems is the Korean Steem Community account Proxy.Token. Many Korean Steemains have set this account as their proxy for witness voting. The Proxy.Token account, from what I understand, has mostly been responsible for putting the OG STEEM witnesses in the Top 10 or so places. From what I understand, this account can still upvote for more of the Original Steem Witnesses if it wanted to, and it could of course Unvote for the OG witnesses now in the Top 10, thus ceding control to Justin Sun.
The current impasse is most likely currently held this way by the Proxy.Token account and they do have demands. Based on who meets those demands is whom they will support and vote for. The tricky part for Proxy. Token is that Justin Sun can promise whatever they are asking for, but once he is handed full voting control of the Steem Witnesses, he can do whatever he wants and there will be no way to stop him from doing so, even if he promised on paper not to this or that. His reputation, his words and prior actions makes it so that he is not 100% trustworthy.
On the other hand for the Proxy.Token account is voting for the original STEEM Blockchain witnesses, and for now that seems to mean to return to the old Steem Blockchain, but with shackles around Justin Sun's Steem Witness voting rights. I believe Proxy.Token and its supporters do not like the old Steem Blockchain because of the abuse by some of the STEEM Witnesses running voting bots, circle jerking, down voting, not voting, not doing anything productive for the STEEM Blockchain and other complaints.
Both the Real World equities and the Virtual World assets are taking a beating due to all the uncertainty that currently hangs over our daily lives. This would be a most opportune time for the STEEM Blockchain to finally come together and join in support of moving this community forward. A show of solidarity behind the First True Crypto Social Media Platform would speak volumes to the Crypto-World and the World. The STEEM Blockchain could set the example to the World at large that even in these uncertain and turbulent times, the community on the STEEM Blockchain pushed forwarded to remain true to its mantra of being the first truly decentralized crypto-social media platform for the people by the people.
If You have not voted, or don't know how or think you might have voted incorrectly, NOW MORE THAN EVER IS THE TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

Very important and well said about the topic of 9/11 and corona virus after the effects on economic, and now we passing a time like that with the same effect on steem, appreciated your words.

Carona virus is also a hot topic in Indonesia. and there are already dozens of victims of the carona virus at this time.

Yes, these are really critical times.
But you can only live one day at a time and give thanks for being able to overcome it.
