What attitude should we assume towards money?

Many Christians believe that money is an obstacle to following Christ and, therefore, it is better to be materially poor than rich.

Money is of vital importance for the economic development of a society and for business relationships. Without money, life becomes complicated to get things that meet our basic needs. In that sense, money has an importance that cannot be taken away with the simple intention of saying that without money I am more holy than others.

In reality, the problem of money is not without having little or much. The problem is the attitude of the person towards money. In 1 Timothy 6: 9-10, the apostle Paul wrote:

1 Timothy 6: 9-10 Reina-Valera 1960 (NKJV), 9 For those who want to get rich they fall into temptation and bond, and in many silly and harmful greeds, which plunge men into destruction and destruction. destruction. destruction; 10 Because the root of all evils is the love of money, which covets some, deviated from faith and was pierced with many pains.

Keep in mind that the apostle Paul says "Because those who want to get rich fall into temptation and bond." If you want to make money with the sole intention of getting rich, of course you will have serious problems, because the love of money will drag you into bitterness. Who wants to get rich just thinks about money and neglects love and service to God.

When we give more importance to money and neglect our communion with God, the enemy will begin to put a loop in the Christian's life, to completely distract him from serving God, so that he dedicates himself to accumulating wealth. This is a strong bond that will not be easy to break because the enemy will fill the heart of man with many worries, to the point that the person is dedicated 24 hours a day to earn money and this leads him to lose his intimacy. With God. The person becomes greedy and this generates emotional and psychological damage to the believer.

Now, if you are a person who owns your business, big or small, and your intention is to help those in need and spread the Gospel, your perspective of life towards money changes, and God will prosper it greatly, because the intention from the heart It depends on what God demands of the richest: "Sell what you have and give it to the poor." If this is the approach or your attitude towards money, God will surely reward you greatly. But, if his attitude is to enrich himself, regardless of the need of the people around him, he will surely fall into the ties of the enemy and this will cause him to stumble to serve God from the heart.

Use your money in the healthiest way as God commands in your word and you will get great treasures in heaven.
