Hmm.. That does seem strange. Sometimes it'll fail to post for me, but it has always saved a draft. Could it be a problem with the stability of your connection?
Steemit has been having some trouble with attacks and with keeping things on the platform stable, but I haven't been seeing this issue, recently.
