Why So Serious?
It's been a pretty wild ride these past four years on the Steem BlockChain. I've only been here for about three. We have had our share of major drama. Yes this by far is the craziest of them all but don't forget what really makes this place valuable. It's us as a whole.
Time and time again we face situations together. When the plug was pulled and the blockchain stopped we banded together. From where I am standing this situation has made us stronger. I'm no dev or computer expert but I'm sure our home team will come out victorious.
The TRON people can put out as many tweets as they want ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN TWEETS. From where I'm standing it would be suicide for Justin's invesment to go against the entire community. We are STEEM and STEEM IS US. We have not been bought. He just owns our favorite house....lol.
If Steemit turns into a Tron casino we could always use other Front-ends. In the past few days we have heard from witnesses and Steemit Inc members that have barely spoken in public. It's very reassuring to see the fellow brotherhood being displayed in the past few days.
I'm a little nervous too
Having one person one persong controling the biggest stake on the network is pretty nerve-wrecking by itself. Throw in the fact that it's a person we really know nothing about and there is a reason to be nervous. We really don't know what his plans are for Steemit. Or how he will use his newly acquired stake. What we do know is that he is a pretty big super star with deep pockets and one of the most popular projects out. Almost everyone in the crypto space has heard of him and his project. His 2 million followers on Twitter can attest to that. Before we run and crucify him I think he deserves to be given a chance. I mean he only invested millions of dollars in our dream. The least we could do is have a little faith in him.
I have seen a lot of people commenting that we should just fork his stake out right now. Honestly that sounds pretty barbaric. I mean the guys sends out a couple tweets and you guys want to render his million dollar investment to 0. I don't even think our witnesses would ever be down for that no matter what the circumstances. I'm sure we will have a much better solution. Plus can you imagine the bad rep we would get as a community if we did such a thing. We would lose out on any major future investments in this place.
Like I said before I am no expert and not savy when it comes to the nitty gritty of how this blockchain works. So I am not even sure what kind of fork would even be possible if the Tron team would start acting hostile. Maybe one of you super duper smart Steemians can clue me in. Leave a comment.
In conclusion
The future is a big what if at this moment. But I still say we have a bright one. We just need to wait and see what happens over the next couple weeks and months. I am not down for a token swap as I feel that would destroy what we have built here. I highly doubt Justin will ever sabatoge his investment by alienating the very thing that makes this place valuable. Us. The biggest community in the Blockchain world. The first real Social Media platform on any Blockchain. We will get through this people!!!!!!
