This could very well be the future of other airdrops.
Another huge benefit to cryptocurrency airdrops on Steemit is the economic aid they can provide to those who live in economically distressed areas. Venezuela is a perfect example. People there have fallen victim to a corrupt government that has devastated their currency. Many Venezuelan have flocked to Steemit as an alternate to their broken currency system. We can’t think of the people in economically distressed areas as just a charity case. In fact, they are leading the way to cryptocurrency adoption. They are trailblazers and pioneers for the future of cryptocurrencies. Their economic situation encourages them to adopt cryptocurrency not just for storage, but for real use. Just look at what villages in Africa are doing. Even the tiniest villages have markets that utilize STEEM to buy and trade for goods. I can’t find a single person or store where I live to take STEEM, but entire communities in economically distressed areas are actually using it. Cryptocurrency itself can be a lifesaving means to those in need. What better way to provide world aid than to airdrop right here on Steemit?

Fíjate soy profesor en la Universidad de Oriente y también soy jefe del departamento de Nomina de la universidad y mi sueldo no llega a 8 dolares mensuales así como lo ves 8 dolares. Tengo una familia con dos hijas, en el día por estar en la universidad no me da tiempo de otro trabajo por eso debo acostarme muy tarde en la noche para poder trabajar en Steemit.
Trabajar en Steemit es lo que me ayuda poder llevar comida a mi hogar para que a mi hijas no les falte alimentos, no es fácil vivir en Venezuela, pero todas las personas de bien todos los días luchamos para poder sobrevivir, muchos Venezolanos encuentran en steemit una gran ayuda.
Yo hice lo de byteball y eso me ayuda a comprar algunas cosas para el hogar.

Airdropping based on reputation was actually bad... people can get lot's of reputation easily with voting bots nowadays, i know people that had 5 or 6 accounts that used voting bots to get those account at plus 60 rep and got enough byteball for a new laptop!
But i see your point, airdropping to people on steemit is actually quite good IMO, we have a large crypto community airdropping to us is good for them!
I know. The root of the reputation problem, however, is paid upvote bots. The Byteball folks didn't quite understand this.
