RE: What do you do first on Steem? It's important!

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Holy... I think you're right, when i joined at first i just used steemit to upload my art. Some people liked it, but there was not a wave or something... it feels like i do this for nothing. And then i posted one of my masterpieces, went out of town for 2 days, when i came back i saw the people reactions. They ware happy to see this. but after that again silence. I am doing a story that unites all my art in one. but it seems like not many people bother to read it... this makes me sad, or just my art is not good enough. I try to be more social, It's a bit hard for me to do that but i try. good post tho! it makes somethings clear :)
Cheers!

Man @svdsdragunov! It is not the quality of your art, I will tell you that right now. I went and took a quick look and you have some amazing sketches there.

As to why you aren't getting much, you have to look at it like a street performer, trying to get people who are walking past to drop some change into your hat.

The problem is, there are a thousand other street performers on the same corner vying for that attention. And the people walking past already have the people they are following to look after.

If people are not already following you, the only place your post shows up is in the "new" category. There it sits for maybe MAYBE 10 minutes before it scrolls down so far that none of the passers by see it.

So you have to build a following. You can use these follow for follow services (I used Steemfollower for a few days, and got followers, most of whom have unfollowed me by now, and I do not endorse the practice, as it is not an engaged follower base).

So go through the tags you like. Find other artists and comment on their posts. Talk about what you like. Speak in Artist terms. Get their attention.

Do not, and I can't stress this enough, do NOT comment a link back to your blog unless asked. If the person is interested in seeing your work, they can easily click on your name and link from there. Let them decide.

So get off the street corner and into the crowd. Go to their performance space and engage! It may be a bit intimidating at first, but you can do it! People want to see what you are doing!

I encourage everyone reading this to go check out @svddragunov's art, it is really good folks!!

Oh, thanks mate,i never spam people, it's disturbing. I try to engage conversations, to improve other people art techniques and help them in general or ask for advice. It feels like catching a raindrop, it's really intimidating. Patience is the key i guess.
Thank you again and Cheers!

Then you are on the right path. Patience and determination will pay off!

One day, sooner or later.
My grandfather once said to me: a rich artist is the one, whose work meets the eyes of a connoisseurs... or something like that, i was like 9 years old back then. I guess this can be said for all steemit users too.
