Introduction
Maybe you are super talented and intelligent, but you keep failing in some of your endeavors. Or possibly, you know a friend, a colleague or someone that is very intelligent who keep making horrible mistakes. It might look astonishing to us why some with such level of intelligence could go wrong in some things. It happen - a lot - to intelligent people. No matter your academic qualifications or level of intelligence, here are 3 reasons that probably make intelligent people fail - and you need to avoid them.
1. They do not admit wrong even when its obvious: Some intelligent people always try to prove they are right. They do not want to accept that anyone could make mistakes. Some feel that when they accept being wrong, people will think they are no longer smart and wont respect them again. But to be honest, true intelligence and strength of character comes when one acknowledges one's limitations and even apologize to people affected by one's thoughts or actions.
2. Some keep away from people: Yes, I have seen quite not a few intelligent people that keep to themselves. They consider others inferior and not worth associating with. Again, this kind of behaviour is wrong and would lead to making mistakes. Someone that stays on their own is prone to wrong thoughts and does not benefit from the collective wisdom of several people. Everyone and everything is important. Even when you think you knew it all, consulting other people will help you see things from a broader perspective.
Some are dogmatic: Insisting on your own opinions does not always make you look smart. Some intelligent people believe that their assesement of each situation is the ultimate and do not like the idea of sampling other people's opinions. Even when you you are right, allow others to say their mind. Use reasoning manner to help all see the benefits of your viewpoint. Someone who is dogmatic will fight many unnecessary battles that will contribute to one's downfall.
Conclusion
Avoid the above 3 pitfalls and you will definitely succeed in your endeavors. Work hard towards your goals, never think that you are smarter than other people. Someday, a supposedly dumb person might save your day! Think about it!
