Anthony Davis' farewell couldn't have been sweeter. The Pelicans held on and kept their demands to the bottom. And so, even though they lost their phenomenon, they managed to build a young, beautiful and very strong team in perspective. Brandon Ingram is playing a top-player season, Josh Hart is showing great flexibility on both sides of the court, Lonzo Ball when he played looked fit. L'addio di Anthony Davis non poteva essere più dolce. I Pelicans hanno tenuto duro e mantenuto fino in fondo le loro richieste. E cosi, anche se hanno perso il loro fenomeno, sono riusciti a costruire una squadra giovane, bella e fortissima in prospettiva. Oltre ad un discreto pacchetto di prime scelte, sono arrivati giocatori di grande avvenire. Brandon Ingram sta disputando una stagione da Top Player, Josh Hart sta mostrando grande duttilità su entrambi i lati del campo, Lonzo Ball quando ha giocato è sembrato in forma. Ad essi si aggiunge la prima scelta assoluta al draft, quello Zion Williamson che causa infortunio non ancora ha disputato gare in NBA ma che tutti decantano come il nuovo fenomeno della NBA che sarà. Ma la dirigenza dei Pelicans ha saputo pescare bene anche nel mercato Free Agency, portando a casa 2 veterani come Favors e Redick pronti a guidare i giovani. Per l'Italia è stata una grande soddisfazione vedere arrivare in NBA Nicolò Melli, un giocatore non più giovanissimo ma che con grande sorpresa sta giocando benissimo in questo avvio di stagione. Netti miglioramenti anche per i giovani da rotazione, Frank Jackson e Kenrich Williams. Jaxson Hayes e Walker, seppure ad intermittenza stanno mostrando di essere delle ottime scelte. Anche Okafor è sembrato a tratti quello che prometteva 4 anni fa. Ed infine la stella Jrue Holiday, pronta a prendere la squadra sulle spalle nei momenti più importanti. Il futuro è stupendo ma anche il presente, a New Orleans, promette bene.
